Starting from the reception, rude staff.
They assigned us a room where renovation work began above ours every morning. As early as eight in the morning we could hear hammering, using the hose, pieces of wall or plasterboard falling and loud communication between them. The works continue all morning and then speaking to the reception, knowing of this mix-up, they tell us that they continue until five in the afternoon.
It was impossible to rest with these repetitive and annoying noises.
The shower was terrible. We found worms on the shower tray twice. Maybe we come from upstairs due to renovations.
Acceptable cleanliness. Only after discussing this mix-up did they begin to pay more attention to cleanliness.
Terrible table service. Some people even seemed annoyed when we asked for a glass of water or a spoon. Once they even ignored us without even bringing us a drink once we were seated.
Melia is the worst hotel experience and chain I have ever tried.

Consider this was my 62 week over the past 14 years says it all. Amazing staff, beautiful beach , best food I have eaten in years. The greatest entertainment in Varadero. Had another really interesting trip to my second home. Going through amazing renovations and upgrades to the resort . My corner suite was beautiful with quite AC and a new memory foam mattress . Had an issue with my other suites AC and was moved to another that was newly renovated and was perfect.. All in all another great time at Sol Palmeras! Enjoy the pics
