I have booked a non-smoking junior suite via Trip.com, and my booking record shows it is confirmed. However, when I arrived at the hotel, the reception manager told me that all non-smoking rooms were occupied and that they had no record of my request for a non-smoking room. As a result, I have to accept a smoking room, and the whole floor is a smoking area! Though the hotel keeps spraying fragrance/perfume regularly by automatic machines, it makes things worse because the smell is too strong and unpleasant. When I entered the room, the smell of cigarettes mixed with fragrance was so irritating, and I started to feel nauseous and get a headache. After communicating with the hotel manager again, he put an air freshener in the room. However, the air freshener also emits fragrance or maybe disinfectant. Anyway, the smell became even worse and made me feel sick. As a result, I had to stay in my friend's room, which is a non-smoking room, and I threw up. My friend had to talk to the manager again, and finally the manager agreed to change my room. I am not sure whether my discomfort is due to an allergic reaction to the fragrance or to the fragrance's concentration in the room being too high. Though it was not a good experience, I would like to thank the manager who tried his best to help me.
