Traveling with my whole family, including seniors and young children, during Chinese New Year, the last thing I wanted was hassle and exhaustion. But our stay at the Shangri-La Qiantan, Pudong, Shanghai, was truly nothing but comfort and joy.
We booked a Deluxe Horizon Club Executive Twin Room, and initially, we had two of the same room type. Upon arrival, we found out there were connecting rooms available. After discussing it with the Horizon Club front desk, they kindly arranged to switch our rooms the next day. Although one of them became a King room, the sofa in the room cleverly converted into a bed for the kids. The room layout was incredibly well-planned; with the hidden sliding door closed, it became a separate space (Pic 5). I must say, connecting rooms are absolutely perfect for large family trips – everyone, from the kids to the elderly, had their own comfortable corner.
What truly left a lasting impression was the experience at the Horizon Club Executive Lounge. From the moment I stepped into the lounge, there was a sense of relaxation, like coming home. Breakfast was exquisite, and in the afternoon, we could bring the elderly and children for tea and pastries. In the evening, enjoying a drink with family during happy hour – that’s exactly what a holiday should feel like.
The staff were always smiling and incredibly patient with both the elderly and the children.
What does it mean to feel at home? Probably when the elders are satisfied, the children are happy, and you yourself aren't tired. Thank you, Shangri-La Qiantan, for giving us such a wonderful Chinese New Year memory ❤️. They even thoughtfully gifted us a New Year's cake box upon check-out. It was a truly delightful holiday trip, so it absolutely deserves a 5-star rating!
