Service tip top. Location ok. You got what you pay. Staff very ok.

We arrived at Male airport and arranged pick up from the hotel and were advised to be at the picket point at 9.30 am. for 10 o'clock boat .We were there at 9.15 am but they said that 10 am boat has engine issues and unable to transfer till 11.30am which is fair but on arriving at the hotel the reception staff said you guys missed the 10 am boat because you were not on time and when we stated that we were 45 minutes earlier at the pick up point the hotel staff went quiet and changed the topic . After hour wait for check-in we were told that the rooms which we booked has some lock issues and they cannot accommodate us in that room and the hotel is full so they are not able to accomodate us in the hotel but they said they can accomodation in their villa which was next door. We agreed thinking that villa would be good but later we realised that the hotel is mostly for the staff to stay and the room was dirty half used toiletries nothing in minibar,towels were literally torn bathroom door was rusted,the shower door was broken TV in the room not working when reported no action they simply stated we are completely booked and we cannot accommodate. Asked for a partial refund as we paid a way lot ,we were completely ignored, and we reported it to the online site, which we booked and on the day of departure the managed came to us and offered us 2 activity as compensation and dinner for one night but we did not accept it as we have already done the activity and vacated. After a week, chase up with the online site we got some refunds, but nothing close to what we should have returned . we have also attached the picture of the room we stayed in. we strongly recommend avoiding this hotel as it is a scam, and the room doesn't even look any close to what they have advertised. Yes, the rooms are close to jetty, but the staff and management and the room are not worthy what you pay for. Kindly avoid this place at any cost.

This hotel cancelled our booking 8days before we were set to leave on our holiday - they did not send any msg or email and it was only when I was checking my bank balance I realised I had been refunded. We then saw on air BnB they had rooms available for double the price per night than we paid back in November. The service/location might be good but this is how they will treat people. This greedy act does not reflect the culture on the island and luckily we were able to find somewhere else (there were only 2 options on the whole island left with our dates!) and enjoy maafushi. Crystal sands is a con.

Ojo con este hotel. Reservé una habitación con balcón y me han dado una habitación con una ventana tapiada. Habitación sin luz natural y muy deteriorada como grietas en la pared. No solucionan el problema y te proponen que puedes cancelar y buscarte otro hotel, cuando no hay ninguno disponible en toda la isla. Be careful with this hotel. I booked a room with a balcony and they gave me one with a boarded up window. The room had no natural light and was in a very poor condition, with cracks in the wall. They did not solve the problem and suggested that you cancel and find another hotel, when there were none available on the entire island.

The staff were superb but each side were building works which weren’t that noisy, but made the area look dirty

Booked this hotel and arranged transfer with their staff from airport. Staff told me wait near desk we will take you yo the boat. I waited 50 minutes. Nobody came then they told sorry we forgot you and the boat left. They charged my card for full of stay. Never stay there.
