We booked a duplex apartment for a family of four, and everyone got their own bed. The lake view is beautiful, and the best part is the lawn downstairs and the balcony upstairs. Given how expensive accommodation is in Interlaken, choosing this place was a no-brainer.

Honestly, I booked this hotel again purely for the view. However, this stay was still a bad experience. First, I had specifically requested a high-floor room in the main building in advance, but they still gave me the lowest floor in the front row. Second, the living room in the front-row rooms is on the ground floor, but the bedroom is in the basement, and since the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, the room was incredibly stuffy at night and had a strange smell, making it impossible to sleep. Third, there were a lot of flying insects in the room, with flies and moths everywhere, and the hotel didn't address it promptly.

The room was a bit hard to find, but it's one of the few single-story rooms in the hotel (most other rooms are split-level, with a double bed and bathroom on one floor, and the living area on another). The balcony offers great views, but the laundry facilities are in a common area.

Step out of the hotel and be greeted by the breathtaking Jungfrau right before your eyes! The breakfast buffet doesn't have a huge selection, but it's enough to fill you up. The front desk is on the sixth floor, and there's a kids' play area on the third floor. The view from here is absolutely incredible!

The room was full of flies and mosquitoes, making it impossible to sleep at night! There was no air conditioning or even a fan, so it was incredibly hot. The duvet cover and pillows reeked of sweat. This is by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had! I have no idea how it got rated so highly and ranked first. 😂

Heads up: This hotel is located up in the mountains. It's about a 20-minute winding drive uphill from the bottom. So, if you're looking for a staycation to relax and enjoy the lake views without coming down, this could be a good option. However, if you're like me and just using it as a stopover for trips to Grindelwald, Zermatt, and Bern, then the transportation is quite inconvenient. Also, while the balcony view is nice, it's only separated from the next-door balcony by a simple wooden partition, meaning there's absolutely no soundproofing. You can hear your neighbors' conversations on their balcony crystal clear. The service was good, and breakfast was decent, although you might have to wait for a table. Laundry costs 6 Swiss francs, and the laundry room is a bit far from the rooms. In short, this hotel has very obvious pros and cons.

The hotel is located on Interlaken's Harder Kulm, offering views of the Jungfrau and other three peaks in the distance. It's suitable for self-driving. The hotel offers a rich variety for breakfast, and the restaurant has a stylish decor. Rooms come with a kitchen, though it's quite basic, and the cooking utensils in the cupboard are locked. The hotel has many activities like a sauna and swimming pool, but I didn't have time to participate. The hotel's biggest draw is its excellent location, overlooking Lake Thun and with views of the Jungfrau. The room decor itself is simple, but it has everything you need, including a sofa, a large dining table (which can be used for work), and a TV. There's also ample parking available.

This is my second time visiting Switzerland, and I didn't hesitate to book this hotel again. The scenery is beautiful and the service is great. This time, the room I stayed in overlooked the children's play area – I wonder if that was a thoughtful arrangement by the hotel. Sitting on the balcony in the morning and evening, enjoying the beautiful view across the way, was incredibly relaxing.
