JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square

This 5-star hotel may not be new, but it is impeccably maintained. If you appreciate classic luxury, along with views of People's Square, People's Park, and the Bund skyline, you will feel right at home here. The room is spacious and the bedding is plush. The bathroom is elegantly designed and well organized. There is also a large new TV facing the bed if you enjoy watching TV. The location is another highlight — it's within walking distance of the shopping areas around People's Square, making it very convenient for both sightseeing and shopping.

Thank you for for good service, I am putting 5 stars for that. But in comments adding a few things that would be great to add: 1) Temperature in the elevators and hall is freezing. As a girl coming from outside summer hot weather in the dress with a kid , it’s really uncomfortable . I was shivering all the way till I got my keys for 20 minutes of all the journey to 38floor for check in and further 2) please buy proper hair dryer, current one is super old and cheap. It’s 3 star cheap Chinese hotel experience. Proper professional hairdryer costs n china 120-190 rmb, but would improve experience of guest with long hair A LOT. 3) thank you for Modern and good coffee machine, please add zero calories sweeteners in the room (equal or similar). You have it at the breakfast, but we can’t run to breakfast in Panama as we wake up and have cup of coffee.

Staying at the JW Marriott Shanghai at Tomorrow Square was an absolute highlight of our trip. The location is simply unbeatable — you're right next to the subway station and People's Square, and situated in the middle of Nanjing Street, yet just far enough from the main pedestrian road to feel more peaceful and less chaotic. It's the perfect balance of being in the heart of the action while still enjoying a calm retreat. Just around the corner on Huanghe Street, you'll find a fantastic array of great dining options, and the nearby highway makes arrival and departure incredibly fast and convenient — a huge plus when navigating Shanghai traffic. From the moment you step into the sky lobby on the 38th floor, you're greeted with astonishing panoramic views of the Shanghai skyline that simply take your breath away. The lobby bar serves incredible cocktails that are as beautifully crafted as the scenery behind them — there's nothing quite like sipping a perfectly mixed drink while watching the city lights sparkle below. While the hotel may not feel as ultra-modern as some of the newer properties in the city, it more than makes up for it with character and warmth. Everything is kept in pristine condition — you can tell the staff takes immense pride in maintaining this iconic property. The rooms are spotless, elegant, and comfortable, with that classic Marriott attention to detail. The breakfast was outstanding. The spread was generous and high-quality, but the real standout was the noodles cooked on demand — fresh, flavorful, and made exactly to your liking. It was the perfect way to start each morning. We also spent plenty of time at the swimming pools, which were a lovely retreat from the bustling city. Clean, well-maintained, and wonderfully relaxing. And I have to mention the sleep quality — the mattress and bedding were absolutely top-tier. After long days of exploring Shanghai, sinking into that bed felt like pure luxury. I woke up genuinely rested every single morning. If you want a centrally located, beautifully maintained classic hotel with some of the best views in Shanghai, this is it. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed my stay at JW Hotel Shanghai tomorrow Square. I stay here regularly when I’m visiting Shanghai and this hotel never disappoint. The service is it always very warm and friendly and they remember my room preferences very well. This time I was welcomed by the front office manager I believe unfortunately I didn’t catch her name, but she was very professional and elegant and she helped to check for me and gave me a beautiful room on a high floor with great view. I will definitely choose to stay at this hotel again during my next visit to Shanghai.
