Niva Kurumba Maldives

Location: looks good as It’s nearest resort to airport, but, in fact - bad, as low flying noisy seaplanes from early morning till evening make turns after take off right over Kurumba. Not to mention noisy boats passing nearby whole day. Check out: hotel informed that we must vacate our room at 9:30 - 1 hour before our boat time at 10:30. I asked why so early as room paid until 12:00. Answer was: we must check minibar and room after your departure. I find this rude and disrespectful. Especially uncomfortable was waiting the boat in heat of reception area without walls and without air conditioning. On check in receptionist provide me WhatsApp number. But when I asked something through this channel - waited answers many hours. Breakfast: almost fall due to broken chair. Fried “sunny side up” eggs looked pitiful. Coffee from coffee machine wasn’t good. After my complaint nice cook chief approached us with apologies. All was good after that. Mosquitos bites during breakfast and at night (housekeeping kept room doors widely opened during room cleaning allowing flies and other insects come into room). Toilet brush installed very strange way - too high. See pics attached please. No live coral reefs in hotel lagoon, just sand and trash on bottom - old aluminum cans and food packagings, which probably came outside during high tides. Staff cleaning daily but still coming. Think twice when choose this resort. Lots of better around.

The staff was excellent, and the rooms were clean with a wonderful view of the ocean. The breakfast selection wasn't very varied; considering the price, I think they could have offered something better.

I had a nice stay at Kurumba, and they were really helpful, especially Omaima and Aman.

Kurumba Maldives has a nice beach and lagoon, and the island itself is green and well maintained. However, the experience overall was quite average and not what you might expect from a typical Maldivian resort. Because of its close proximity to Malé, the water is not very clear and the surroundings feel less pristine than on more remote islands. The service was also somewhat disappointing, as the customer care could definitely be improved. While the resort is comfortable enough, it lacks the special atmosphere and exceptional hospitality that many people associate with the Maldives. Overall, it’s an okay resort, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
