InterContinental Hotels SHANGHAI HARBOUR CITY by IHG

Came to West Lake for the fireworks, and the front desk service was superb! They proactively upgraded me to an Executive Balcony Room, which was incredibly spacious, felt like 80 square meters. The stay was super comfortable. It was my birthday, and the hotel helped with some simple decorations and even gifted a cheesecake, which was fantastic! Plus, there was an amazing buffet dinner and breakfast! Exceeded my expectations!

Everything was perfect except for the slightly long check-in process during Chinese New Year! We checked in on the fifth day of the ***** New Year and got to see a special fireworks show, which was absolutely amazing. The breakfast spread was extensive, and my parents really enjoyed it; there were plenty of options for older guests!

I went to Lingang for a conference and stayed at both Hyatt and InterContinental. InterContinental was so much better than Hyatt! First, I got a free upgrade to a balcony room, so we watched the sunrise right from our room – it was absolutely stunning! Second, the room was huge and spotless. For dinner, we ate at Cai Feng Lou, and the staff there were really patient, even though we took a long time to order since it's hard to pick dishes for just two people. Oh, and the lobby bar is gorgeous, and both the coffee and ice cream were delicious! Finally, when I was almost done with breakfast, a staff member asked if everything was satisfactory. I casually mentioned it was good but a shame there was no cantaloupe. To my surprise, a few minutes later, the staff brought over a whole plate of cantaloupe – I was truly touched. I figured on a Tuesday morning, with fewer guests, it was normal for the restaurant to have fewer fruit varieties, so I never expected InterContinental's service to be so thoughtful, haha. I've already highly recommended InterContinental Dishui Lake to all my friends! 😄

The hotel is very close to the Sixth People's Hospital Lingang Branch, only a 5-minute drive away. As someone who unfortunately fractured their ankle on the fourth day of the ***** New Year, I really appreciated the hotel's exceptional care, especially Jeanine's thoughtful attention. Thank you again! My family and I stayed for two nights to recuperate. The bedding was comfortable, and knowing about my injured leg, they brought up many snacks and fruits. Despite the heavy rain outside, the air was fresh, and the food at Cai Feng Lou Chinese restaurant was as excellent as always!

We waited for 45 rooms ahead of us to check in before finally getting into ours at 3:30 PM, even though check-in was supposed to be at 2 PM. I didn't expect such a massive crowd on the sixth day of the ***** New Year. We booked a travel photoshoot, but the results were disappointing – my phone photos were actually better! They made us pick 10 photos in just three minutes. We got a room upgrade to an executive king room with a partial lake view. With the king-sized bed, two bed rails, and two duvets, all three of us slept comfortably, with the baby safely in the middle. We loved lying in bed and watching the light reflecting off the pool and the lake, as well as the sky. The breakfast was great and included baby cutlery and a high chair, all part of the room rate. The kids' play area was right below our room, and our little one had a blast! We requested a late check-out until 3 PM, which worked out perfectly – we went to the planetarium, grabbed some food, and then had enough time to pack up. Next time, we're planning a three-day, two-night stay to enjoy a more relaxed, slow-paced visit!

The service was excellent, and all the staff were very polite. A special shout-out to the lady at the front desk – she noticed we were waiting a while for our room and upgraded us! She also extended our check-out time when she found out we were going to the planetarium the next morning. It was a very pleasant experience!
