Donghu Collection Hotel

The location is fantastic, very convenient for transport, with all sorts of bars, cafes, and restaurants nearby. It's also within walking distance to Julu Road, Fenyang Road, Huaihai Road, Fuxing Road, and even Wukang Road. The room was clean, and the service was excellent.

Perfect location! Plenty of great food and shopping nearby, especially Supreme, Time Remake, and One Gallery, which are all clustered together.

Overall, the hotel was acceptable, but the experience didn't quite meet expectations. The actual room size was smaller than what appeared in the promotional photos and descriptions. The lighting throughout was a bit dim, and the bathroom felt quite cramped. Furthermore, the room's storage design was impractical. The wardrobe lacked proper hanging space, which would be inconvenient for guests staying for an extended period or those needing to hang clothes. Safety needs improvement. The bathroom lighting was insufficient, and the floor was slippery. I accidentally cut my foot while showering. I hope the hotel can enhance its anti-slip measures and lighting to prevent similar incidents. There's also room for improvement in service. During check-in, the front desk asked if we needed toiletries but didn't proactively provide them. We had to go back to the front desk twice to follow up before finally receiving some of the items. The service lacked proactivity and attention to detail. Some of the in-room details were also concerning. For instance, the coffee creamer was placed in a drawer directly above the refrigerator, and upon opening it, it was noticeably warm to the touch. Given that the refrigerator's compressor generates heat, this storage method raises concerns about food preservation conditions and food safety management. I hope the hotel takes these details seriously and makes improvements. The hotel's location was decent, close to some Citywalk routes, making it convenient for walking tours. However, it still required a ten-minute walk to reach the subway station, which isn't particularly convenient for travelers relying on public transport. Additionally, the gym and pool closed quite early. By the time we arrived, these facilities were already closed, and we were unable to experience the amenities advertised by the hotel, which was disappointing. In summary, while the hotel has some location advantages, the room experience, space planning, safety details, service quality, and the operating hours of its facilities all fell short of expectations. Given its price point, the value for money isn't high. Especially regarding the bathroom safety hazards and food storage details, the impression left was poor. Therefore, based on this stay, I personally would not consider staying here again.

This is my second time booking here, as someone from the suburbs, I'm playing city dweller for a few days. Part of me selfishly hopes fewer people discover this hidden gem of a hotel in such a prime location, but I also genuinely wish for it to thrive. What truly stands out is how polite the parking attendant is; he's one of the friendliest security guards I've ever encountered. My mood is always great from the moment I enter or leave the parking lot, and I hope the hotel gives them some recognition. The street opposite has recently been renovated and is now open for business, which has really enhanced the shopping experience around here. It's truly a comfortable stay. As Shanghainese say, '螺蛳壳里作道场' (making a grand show in a snail shell – meaning making the most of a small space), the room has everything you need. The only minor drawback is the limited storage space; it would be perfect if there were an additional small table/chair or a TV cabinet.
