The moment I saw the room photos, I fell in love with the decor style and booked it without hesitation. And I wasn't disappointed when I arrived – it was full of pleasant surprises! The room was very clean, spacious, and the decor style was so refreshing, it's hard not to love it. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming; they called me in advance to check on my travel plans and were waiting for us before we even arrived. Because our car had a roof rack and couldn't fit into the parking lot, they actively helped us find a parking spot and even carried our luggage. The restaurant the owner recommended was also delicious. I was so caught up in our travel plans that I forgot to take pictures, but the room was exactly as shown on the homepage. Highly recommend!

The room was exactly as I imagined, clean and tidy. The whole room was decorated in cream. There was a river view right outside, which was very pleasant to enjoy at night. I think this is one of the better B&Bs in this area and it is worth staying in.

Staying in Zhenyuan is a gem! Shanhe Xia Meng was a real steal! Hey everyone! Don't go blindly searching for a B&B in Zhenyuan. My stay at Shanhe Xia Meng was like staying at a friend's house! First, let's talk about the owner. He's so helpful! We arrived at the entrance of the ancient town and couldn't tell east from west. We texted our location, and the owner came to pick us up and even helped with our luggage—this helpfulness instantly made us like him! Looking at the room, there were no fancy frills! The bedding was so soft, just like my own quilt at home. Even someone who loves their bed, I actually fell asleep right away. The bathroom was spotlessly clean with separate wet and dry areas. The toiletries weren't those cheap, scratchy ones. Even the disposable toothbrushes were thicker than others. The best part was the small tea table by the window. Wake up in the morning, make a cup of tea, and watch the Wuyang River flow by. This is what an ancient town should feel like! The breakfast is even better! These aren't those pre-prepared cold buns, but rice noodles freshly cooked by the auntie at the outsourced breakfast shop. You can choose between sour or clear soup, and you can add her homemade pickled sour beans and diced radish. Every bite is incredibly appetizing, even better than other breakfast places, and more substantial. A full stomach gives you energy for a day of exploring! Before leaving, I chatted with the owner, who even pointed out which sour soup fish restaurants are reliable, which silver jewelry is genuine, and even taught us how to avoid the crowds of tour groups trying to take photos. This genuine attitude of not treating tourists like outsiders is truly heartwarming! Next time I'm in Zhenyuan, I'll definitely stay here again! There's parking available, and parking fees are reimbursed, making it very suitable for self-driving trips. The hotel is quiet, perfect for a good night's sleep. At night, a short walk along the riverbank takes you to Zhenyuan Ancient Town, a vibrant blend of cultural heritage, riverside scenery, and dining and entertainment. During the summer, many people come for rafting. We initially planned to book our tickets three days in advance, but when we checked the booking platform, we were shocked to find they were sold out. We had to wait until the week after next for tickets. Thanks to the owner's help, a friend helped us book tickets at the original price—a truly generous gesture. The hotel is clean, spacious, and equipped with a washing machine, microwave, dining table, and induction cooktop. It's a great choice for both short-term and long-term stays in Zhenyuan.

For self-driving trips, this hotel offers parking, which is very convenient. The driver picked us up right away and took us to the hotel in just three minutes. The hotel is new, and the facilities are clean and new. We even used the washing machine at night. The bedding was very comfortable. The river view room is a bit far from the main attractions, which is a nice quiet escape. A taxi is only 6 yuan, which is perfect. However, taxis are scarce in that area, making it difficult to find one. The room came with mineral water and some snacks, which was very thoughtful and warm. I was very satisfied with the room and the location. My room was on the fourth floor, which was a bit tiring to climb. Breakfast was a 10 yuan coupon for soup dumplings from a nearby shop, but since there were three of us, they only gave us two. I think the shop shouldn't have been so picky. The 600 yuan room fee was already paid. If the children were older, giving an extra coupon wouldn't be a big deal; it would have made the guests feel much more comfortable. Of course, it wasn't easy, and the room itself was nice, so I give it a full score.

The bedding was soft and comfortable, instantly washing away the day's fatigue. The owner was warm and welcoming, like a friend. He not only provided detailed information about the ancient city, recommended authentic local cuisine, but also helped with any minor inquiries. Here, I could enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay while immersing myself in the vibrant atmosphere of Zhenyuan. I highly recommend it and will stay here again next time I visit Zhenyuan!

The location was much quieter than the noisiest areas, and the view was great, right outside the window, right by the river! The owner was very helpful, helping us get our luggage from the car. He also provided us with drinking water when we ran out at night, and even gave us shower caps as a courtesy before we left for rafting. The breakfast was also delicious.
