On arrival, we were met by very unfriendly staff who didn’t even ask the standard questions about whether we’d had a good journey or how we were getting on. As we’d arrived before 3.00 pm, our suitcases were taken from us, but we had to carry them ourselves through the hotel’s labyrinthine corridors, past toilets and other storage rooms, to the luggage room. We were given the room we’d booked at first glance. However, the online description had failed to mention that the room had no windows. To be more precise, the window was covered with plastic film, so it was impossible to see out. If you opened the windows, at the level of the windowsill you could see the floor of the small inner courtyard, whose wall was about 4 metres away. If you wanted to open the window for ventilation, you had to put up with the loud noise from the air-conditioning units set up in the inner courtyard. For a 4-star hotel, it was an absolute nightmare. Incidentally, the name ‘Jean Moët’ has nothing to do with the brand; the hotel is simply called that because it’s on the street of the same name. Tip: Give it a miss at that price.
