Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai

Let's talk about my honest experience staying at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai this time, no exaggerations. I have to commend the facilities and environment; they are absolutely flawless. The entire hotel is surrounded by vast rice fields and greenery. The public areas fully meet the Four Seasons' expected standards. The architecture, courtyards, and pool all create an amazing atmosphere. Being nestled in the countryside, it's quiet and perfect for unwinding and daydreaming, and it’s incredibly photogenic 🌾. For those traveling the northern route, the location is truly ideal! We came from 137 Pillars House, stopping at the Sticky Waterfalls and the Blue Temple along the way. After checking into the Four Seasons, we visited the Elephant Poopoopaper Park and Tiger Kingdom the next day. This allowed us to avoid repeatedly going back and forth to the Old City, and we could head straight back to the hotel to rest after our activities – this was a great experience. However, when it comes to service, I felt a slight disappointment. It wasn't that the staff were rude or cold; it was more that the service was highly procedural. The staff were polite and courteous, following procedures for check-in and check-out, but there was absolutely no butler-style experience. During check-in, there was no simple introduction to the hotel's facilities or areas. Although I didn't particularly need a detailed explanation myself, throughout my entire stay, I barely felt the kind of service expected from a high-end resort. It simply felt like the check-in process was completed, nothing more. There was no Chinese-speaking staff available, so communication relied on English. Summary: ✅ If you're looking for environment, scenery, privacy, and your itinerary happens to include the northern route, it's definitely worth staying here. ❌ If you're coming for the Four Seasons' signature attentive, butler-style service, you'll likely be disappointed. It's suitable for friends who just want to enjoy the scenery, relax, and don't have high expectations for service.

The room was lovely and quiet, like a hidden paradise! Surrounded by rice paddies in Mae Rim Valley, the Lanna-style architecture blends perfectly with nature, creating a peaceful and healing atmosphere. The service was impeccable; the staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly detail-oriented. Our room was luxurious and comfortable, with a private balcony/pool offering picturesque views right from the window. Breakfast was bountiful and fresh, and the hotel offers a rich array of activities like Thai cooking classes, rice paddy yoga, and sunset farmer tours.

There's a huge price difference between Ctrip and the local hotel. I was shocked when I checked in! The pool villa that was 13,500 on the platform only cost us 7,900. They even gave us an extra half-day on our last day. Ctrip's practices are clearly price gouging for loyal customers. I've already reported them to the Shanghai Tourism Bureau. Everyone, be careful, they're too unethical!

First off, it's worth noting that this hotel is quite a distance from the city center, so getting in and out can be a bit of a hassle. However, the hotel's environment is absolutely beautiful. The entire rice paddy landscape design is very thoughtfully done, showing great care for both people and the local flora and fauna. You can see the salad greens, herbs, ducks, chickens, and cows that contribute to your breakfast right on site. The service is also incredibly attentive. You could easily spend an entire day relaxing at the hotel without getting bored. Regarding the food, breakfast is delicious, but the lunch and dinner menus essentially mirror the breakfast options. On the downside, the in-room facilities are a bit dated, I wasn't happy with the comfort of the bedding, and the air conditioning vent blows directly onto the bed.

Fantastic atmosphere and incredibly attentive staff. It was my birthday when I stayed, and the hotel staff remembered and acknowledged it! The hotel also offers a great variety of activities, so you can easily find something that suits your interests.
