Hilton Garden Inn Guangzhou Tianhe

Location: It's right by the main road, so it's a bit noisy. Plus, we happened to be there during a renovation, which added to the disturbance. Hygiene: The room was quite clean, but the comforters felt damp, probably due to the weather. Service: The front desk staff was very professional. They quickly stopped someone from cutting in line, which was great! 👍🏻

Poor value for money. For a 500-a-night hotel, the facilities are very ordinary. 1. The view from the window was blocked by signs and air conditioning units, completely obscured and covered in trash. We had to ask the front desk to move us to the 10th floor to get a more open view, although it was still facing dilapidated buildings and completely different from the photos. 2. The fridge wasn't plugged in, and there was no clear indication. We only realized it wasn't plugged in after leaving a cake in it overnight. We then found a notice tucked into a gap in the table saying to save electricity, so the fridge is unplugged by default. 3. The 8th floor had a strong smell of disinfectant. 4. Inconvenient transportation. While not far from the subway station as the crow flies, it's not a short walk. No ride-hailing cars would accept our requests, so we ended up having to take the bus. 5. The shampoo was terrible; my hair felt like I'd washed it with soapy water afterwards.

First off, I'd like to commend the service. The front desk staff were warm and polite, quickly handling my check-in, and issuing the invoice was also very convenient. The lobby has a small convenience store, which is a bit overpriced but quite handy. The hotel's location is near the East Railway Station, but there aren't many amenities around, which might be why they set up the convenience store. The room's soundproofing is good, making for a quiet sleep, but the hot water takes a while to heat up.

The room's cleanliness was really, really poor. Plus, the lightbulb kept flickering as if there was a loose connection, and you could hear crackling sounds from the current. There were even holes in the duvet. And to top it off, there were small spiders under the nightstand.

The hotel's location is superb, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and visiting attractions. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were attentive and thoughtful. What impressed us most was that after we checked out early, we didn't even realize we had been overcharged for a room upgrade. The staff proactively contacted us after we'd left and promptly refunded the difference. This demonstrates their integrity and responsibility, making our experience absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!

The hotel was decent, but the power went out suddenly once in the middle of our stay. The hotel didn't seem to know how to handle it and didn't give us any updates. Also, the bathroom light kept flickering, and there was a strange smell in the room if the air conditioning was turned off. I'm a light sleeper, and the room facing the overpass was very noisy, so I didn't get much sleep.
