The Soravit on Granville’s most outstanding feature is its location. Placed slap bang in the heart of Tsim Sah Tsui you are only minutes walk away from the MTR station, shops, cafes, restaurants and Kowloon Park.
The hotel reception is on the third floor and the only way to get there is by lift. The rooms you get are tiny. We had a party of four people spread over two different rooms. Their room was slightly bigger than ours so we asked reception if we could swap to a similarly bigger room, which the hotel was happy to do. For the record, the nicer rooms are on one side of the hotel with door numbers ending 05. The less good rooms are on the other side with door number ending 02.
The beds were comfortable and the bath room (which contains a toilet, sink and shower) was adequate. The walls and floors however are a bit thin, any time a next door room or upstairs room slammed a door shut or moved luggage across the floor I could hear. Also, bring an sleeping mask to cover your eyes because the smoke detector on the ceiling has a very bright blinking light which was very annoying.
The hotel does not have any extra facilities like dining area for food, no gym or swimming pool. It’s just a room based hotel. But that’s ok, literally across the road there are more eateries than you could ever hope to visit and an Anytime Fitness gym across the road.
For food, I recommend the following: Tai Hing (simple canto style breakfast, lunch and dinner), Master Congee (breakfast only), Red Tea Bakery (for morning buns), among so many others that we tried. There’s also a 7-Eleven right next doors.
Overall this is a hotel that is a step up from a budget hotel, but far from five star. The location however is so so good!!
