Hotel Los Frailes, Valladolid, Yucatán

Room was clean but AC had not been turned on and it was very hot. No one told us that room card had to be inserted for the AC to turn on so we had to go to the front desk to find out. Pool was lively while room cooled down. Dinner options were very limited

Breakfast was freshly made. People were super nice. You get pool towels at the reception. It’s very basic BUT it’s a really nice and spacious place. Would stay here again.

Did not like the location it’s not a great area. Rooms are ok the shower in both of our rooms flooded so bad that the water was coming outside the bathroom. I talked to the people in reception about it and they looked very surprised that I was complaining about that. They after to put a towel at the shower door so the water wouldn’t come out but I told them that’s not going to stop the flood so they sent a maintenance guy to check it out and he said that there’s nothing he can do because the reason why that was happening it was because the shower floor did not have enough inclination to the drain and he knew that. He just went to check it out so it looked like they were trying to fix the problem when they clearly knew it was not fixable. The receptionist after us to change rooms after she talked to management but I asked her if the other rooms did not have this problem with the shower and she said they all do so I told her what is the point in moving. Stuff is not welcoming, attentive or knowledgeable. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

The room and property is clean and quiet. The pool and lights make it pretty. I didn’t swim but the pool looked nice. It is located about a 1/2 mile from the tourist area of town, so not a lot of noise but also not particularly nice for walking. The coffee was pretty good but the breakfast was not so much. Parking was easy and felt safe. The bed is very hard and very uncomfortable. (For reference, I checked the bed at a very nice and pricey hotel near the cathedral, and it was equally hard, so I just accepted that.)

We felt like it was a ghost hotel with very few guests. The pool looked nothing like the online pictures and there were only two sun beds available for the whole pool (one of them did nok work). We stayed there for two nights and they did not manage to clean the room at all, while we were gone on a whole day trip. The photos the restaurant showed on their own website looked way better compared to real life, and was also closed for dinner during our stay in the beginning of January 2026. Please note that smoking is only allowed outside of the hotel’s premises.

Hot water takes 20-30 minutes to be available, wasting a valuable resource. This applies to rooms #7 and # 8. I cannot speak for other rooms as the issue was on #7 and staff moved us to #8 but issue continued. ******* shows “full breakfast” but the hotel only provides very limited options. This was enough for us for for some guests it may not be.

Parking safe and easy. Good breakfast. Really good staff.

Nice and relaxing stay Everything was great, room was clean, very nice pool. I woul appreciate more choice at the breakfast.
