The Westin Birmingham

The check-in process was not the best. As I arrived after check-in time, there were no rooms available, per the front desk associate. I was told I would receive a call when the next room was available I never got a call. I had to head to an event nearby within a certain time frame. After waiting for an hour I went back up to the desk to ask if there were any updates on available rooms. Only then was I told there was a room available. I believe if I had never gone to ask about the room I would've still been waiting. I booked this hotel due to it being in the same proximity to the event.

We booked a room from 4/17 to 4/19. First, it took 25 minutes to find us a room at check in on 4/17. Everything was going well on 4/18. We returned to our room around 4:30PM and went out for the evening around 6PM. We got caught in a rainstorm and returned to the hotel between 8:30 and 9PM to change and go back out, but we were locked out of our room. We were told that our reservation had ended on Saturday. It took 40 minutes before we were given access back to our room and the rest of our evening plans had been ruined. Otherwise, the room was fine.

You're paying for location. Valet was unavailable, and self parking is a nightmare. Upon check-in, my room wasn't available. It was stated it would be a hour later than the 4:00 pm check in time. Fortunately, I was able to placed in a room sooner. However, it was not the room I booked. The shower was stopped up, and the room wasn't as clean as I expected.

Great location.. although when we left, the streets were blocked off and had a terrible time trying to get out away from the hotel. It would’ve also been nice to have a trashcan in the bathroom and an extra set of towels

Was upset the restaurant in the hotel wasn’t open during our stay.. that was literally the main reason we stayed there. Overall 7/10 for the price wasn’t much to offer.

This hotel earns 2 stars solely because the bed was comfortable and the front desk staff was courteous. Everything else about this stay was unacceptable. Both house phones in the room were broken. Two “clean” towels had visible hair on them. The property is outdated and poorly maintained. What truly pushed this stay into unacceptable territory was housekeeping’s handling of a basic request. After discovering the dirty towels, I asked for replacements. Housekeeping delivered them without knocking and left them on the floor outside the door. After waiting more than 20 minutes, I opened the door to notify the front desk that we had not received the towels — only to find them sitting on the floor. Towels intended for guest use were placed directly on the ground. That is unsanitary and completely unprofessional. This was my first visit to Birmingham, and this property ensured it will be my last stay here. I will not return, nor would I recommend it to anyone expecting basic cleanliness and service standards.

The service was very good but the hotel was dirty. Elevators, floors, walls, bathrooms all appeared not to be cleaned daily

Only the bartender and the lady that checked me in were any account. i will never ever stay at that sub standard hotel in Birmingham. Go to the Sheraton

Valet parking was very convenient. Restaurants in walking distance also convenient.
