The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu

The Ritz-Carlton is absolutely amazing and incredibly supportive! We definitively booked an executive room, and traveling with a child couldn't have been more comfortable. The service was impeccable, and the cleanliness was outstanding. With five meals a day at the lounge, it was super convenient for us and the little one – there was always something to eat whenever we were hungry. They even packed some food for us when we were in a rush at checkout, which was incredibly thoughtful! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 The service was proactive, and everyone was extremely professional! The breakfast was absolutely perfect 💯, really making up for the hotel's shortcomings in other areas. It's an older hotel, an established brand, so I guess the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu is a stark reminder to anyone hoping for a budget-friendly luxury stay. Being an older property, the decor and design are definitely dated and outmoded. The fact that the lobby is on the 25th floor already tells you the hotel's overall scale won't offer many surprises. The lobby and bar are on the same floor, which naturally lends a quieter atmosphere. The opulent decor feels out of step with current mainstream styles, creating a rather odd vibe. The room was standard for a five-star, with all the expected amenities. You could still see the signature Ritz royal flair, but the signs of age and the worn-out feel prevented me from truly appreciating the brand's concept. As for the pool and gym… let's just say I won't be commenting on them. The real highlight was breakfast: incredibly rich, professional, enticing, and thoughtfully prepared. All in all, for around 800 RMB a night at the Ritz, this is pretty much what you get. It's unrealistic to expect a 2000 RMB experience at that price point. However, it seems many five-star hotels across Chengdu suffer from similar issues of being old and dated, so I don't blame the hotel itself too much.

My Executive King room on the 39th floor provided a very satisfying overall experience. 1. **Hotel Service Excellence** Both the front desk for check-in and the lobby greeters were excellent, especially the foreign staff member who went above and beyond to share information about the hotel's facilities and operating hours. Ruby, Kiki, and Hannah at the Executive Lounge were incredibly welcoming and provided efficient, professional service even when the dining area was nearly full during afternoon tea and happy hour. I was extremely pleased with their service! 2. **Rooms, Dining, and Amenities** The room's size and cleanliness met the brand's standards. The turndown service was meticulous; the housekeepers even neatly organized my charging cables – a truly commendable detail. The small cakes at the Lobby Lounge were delicious, and the evening staff enthusiastically recommended flavors, with very thoughtful packaging. Breakfast was decent; the food met expectations, but the service was a bit lacking and could be improved. The fitness center was very well-equipped, and the staff at the reception area helped me purchase two small lion souvenirs, always considering the guest's perspective. A fantastic experience overall. In summary, both the hotel's facilities and the staff's warmth are highly commendable. I highly recommend staying here!

Even though this hotel has been open for a while, it's incredibly clean, just as spotless as a new one. From the moment you walk in, the staff are so welcoming, greeting you warmly and asking if you need anything. The breakfast spread is fantastic, and the location is super convenient – it's only about a 15-minute walk to Chunxi Road. Plus, the fruit provided is always fresh.
