We were forced to check out early in the morning with no real alternative. Before making the booking, I carefully checked the listed check-out time (12:00) and the resort’s transfer schedule. Based on that information, we purchased our flight tickets and planned the entire travel logistics. However, after completing a non-refundable booking, the hotel informed us that the only possible way to leave the island was the morning air transfer, requiring us to check out at 8:00 AM. The transfer itself costs $750 per person, and because of this change we had to wake up very early, cut our stay short, and then spend more than four extra hours waiting at the airport. This was extremely poor service and a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this hotel.

Amazing location with a stunning beach! The Beach Casita provided great privacy, and we loved walking through the small path to reach the beach. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. However, the booking trouble with the private flight was quite frustrating. Hope this can be improved in the future.

In addition to the room fee, you have to pay an additional air ticket of about 20,000 Taiwan dollars per person to the island/forget it, or squeeze the small plane with the staff? Except for the arrival and departure staff who feel very cute, the others are very reluctant. The food is so-so, the bed is so-so, and the room is so-so. I was attracted by marketing pictures and videos. I didn’t know the two things until I arrived at the scene!

What an amazing holiday We got off the plane and felt like part of a family from the start. Staff were so attentive and helpful. Our beach villa was amazing with private beach sunbeds. Food drinks gym spa activities and diving were absolutely brilliant. Water so clear, turtles, snorkeling and th most amazing sunsets. Well done Andy and Pamela for running such a perfect retreat. Thanks to all of the staff but amongst them our main contact Dan Carlos Serving staff Andrea , Rosenberg, Alfred, Claire, Gale, Marvie, Kristin Mari, Karen Aaron Harold Vince and Justin (and a few whose names I I didn’t write down) managers Pamela Andy Jessica,Jay and Elmer Peter Roger and Armel We will be back Thank you all

We never imagined we would say this, but this is the first Aman experience we did not entirely fall in love with.m Three important contexts shaped our stay at Amanpulo. (i) Timing, we visited during one of the busiest periods, with the resort operating at or near full occupancy. This may well explain some of what we observed. At Aman’s level, personalization and intuitive attentiveness are not luxuries — they are the defining hallmarks. During our stay, however, these felt diluted. Some facilities we consider essential — such as the steam room and cold plunge — were fully booked for days, making access impossible. Moments of “surprise and delight,” which at this tier of hospitality should feel instinctive rather than exceptional, were largely absent. The simple magic of, “we noticed you enjoyed this yesterday,” never quite materialized. Minor yet recurring lapses — in housekeeping, breakfast orders, and internal communications — occurred over three consecutive days. Individually small, collectively noticeable. (ii) The team. Many of the people we encountered are relatively new to the resort, at least by Aman standards. And yet, this is where our optimism lies. Every interaction revealed promise — receptiveness to feedback, genuine warmth, and a growing affection for the brand. Aman is not merely a set of SOPs; it is a philosophy rooted in storytelling and intuition, in making guests feel understood rather than serviced. That depth cannot be trained overnight. If this is a teething phase, the foundations are certainly there for something exceptional to re-emerge. (iii) The casitas. They remain immaculate and timeless in design. However, thoughtful modernization is essential. Navigating light switches and temperature controls in the dark feels at odds with contemporary expectations; integrated tablet controls would significantly elevate the in-room experience. We understand enhancements are already in motion — another promising sign for the resort’s next chapter. And yet, what makes this reflection nuanced — we genuinely cherished much of our time on the island. Conversations with the team felt authentic and unfiltered. We caught glimpses of island life, of both its beauty and its challenges, which made the experience feel meaningful rather than manufactured. The activities were superb, and the natural setting remains utterly singular — serene, cinematic, and profoundly special. Amanpulo is still a place we would recommend to anyone seeking something extraordinary. As for us, we may well return — but next time, we would choose a quieter season, when the full poetry of Aman can once again be felt without restraint.

We stayed at Amanpulo for 5 nights recently. We had two beach Casitas (5 and 6) which were well positioned, on a beautiful beach. The villas were well appointed and very large. The island is amazing with beaches that match the best of anywhere else in the world. The staff were warm and welcoming and very helpful. We ate at all the restaurants and the only downside was that, at all but one dinner, not all the menu options were available to order. This was very disappointing for such an expensive resort and very surprising. Otherwise, an amazing experience!

I would HIGHLY recommend. We brought our kids (ages 4-17) and everyone had a blast. Great food options for everyone and the staff (especially Raymond and Kenneth) were amazing and so attentive to the kids. While it’s hard to get to - it’s worth it! One of the best Aman experiences we’ve had!

Had a villa right on the beach , so private and with our own pool and buggy it was a wonderful experience. Extremely comfortable accommodation with plenty of lounging space . The beach is stunning pure white talcum sand with amazing views to their sister island. Food was very good in the three restaurants , the Japanese one being exceptional. Forgot to say the lounge at the airport and roomy private plane are a wonderful touch . Very happy to return!
