Mercure Pattaya Ocean Resort

The hotel is a bit old and definitely needs renovation! The toilet wasn't working well! Housekeeping was good though! The staff were friendly, and there's a great play area and a pool with slides for kids. The breakfasts aren't huge, but they were enough for us.

Great location, there's a 7-Eleven downstairs. The 5th-floor swimming pool was closed for renovation when I visited, so I had to go to the Holiday Inn instead. For breakfast, there weren't many Thai options; mainly green curry, stir-fried vegetables, and pork noodles. However, you could order standard items like eggs and bacon separately as much as you wanted.

Room: For a resort, the room is a bit small. You get 4 free bottles of water daily. The air conditioning is incredibly loud, like a plane taking off. The bed is a bit small, but there's a balcony where you can dry clothes. The quality of the slippers and toothpaste is very poor, comparable to a 2-star hotel in China (eco-friendly, perhaps). Environment: The kids' pool is decent, you can dive in, and there's a small soccer field. The 5th-floor pool is under renovation and unusable, with some construction noise. You can use the infinity pool at the neighboring Holiday Inn, which offers better sea views. The kids' club is very small, almost just a gimmick. There's a foot-washing station at the entrance, convenient for rinsing off after the beach. Surroundings: It's a 5-6 minute walk to the beach and about a 10-minute walk to Terminal 21. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, and plenty of dining options, Chinatown, Japanese restaurants, massage parlors, and shops for swimwear and floats are all nearby. You can temporarily park at the entrance, and taxis can wait there. Breakfast: For a resort or 4-star standard, it's just average. They have fruits, bread, coffee, and salads, but nothing particularly stands out. The noodle soup is pre-cooked, and you add the broth yourself, it's not made fresh. Service: It's okay, generally adequate. Things you need are delivered quickly.

The location is super convenient and offers great value for money, with reasonable prices. There's a convenience store right outside the hotel, and it's just a 5-minute walk to the beach. T21 shopping mall is about 5 to 8 minutes away on foot, so the location is excellent. On the way to the mall, there's a row of massage shops with affordable prices, and also the famous *Soi*. The hotel's kids' water park pool is great, and the children loved it. The adult pool was undergoing renovations, but the staff informed us we could use the pool at the Holiday Inn hotel next door, which was also a nice experience. The pool water was very clean, and the view was even more open. Although the hotel shows some signs of age, the reasonable price makes it acceptable. We stayed for three nights and felt very comfortable. Overall, we were satisfied with the hotel. The location is great, and free parking is an added bonus.

The room was clean and smelled great! The baby cot was missing and not very clean. The swimming pool was good but not exceptional, and some equipment was broken. Most of the staff were friendly, with only a few looking a bit grumpy. The breakfast had a good variety, but there were quite few savory dishes to go with rice.

The room was tiny, and the breakfast was even worse with very limited options. The facilities are quite old. You get what you pay for, I guess. It's a real shame the hotel pool was under construction and unavailable.

The pool facilities are excellent, I think families with children would especially enjoy them.
