Hyatt Regency Qingdao

The hotel has a great atmosphere, the service is excellent, and the breakfast is delicious.

Summary: This was by far the worst family trip experience I've had in years. No service, no warmth, no facilities, no experience, and questionable hygiene – it only survives on its location. I will share this experience with everyone I know who plans to visit Qingdao. I believe hardware can be upgraded, but a hotel's service level and service mindset are much harder to change. Facilities: I don't mind an older style, but the plumbing should at least be properly maintained. This is the first time I've ever had water splash out of the sink while brushing my teeth and washing my face, the first time I've encountered this on an executive floor, and the first time in a room costing over 1500 yuan. It's clear who the 'sucker' is. Service: Almost non-existent. Starting from check-in, my daughter politely asked the front desk if they had any small gifts (even budget hotels like All Seasons and Hanting provide something for kids these days), and the answer was, of course, a cold 'no.' I then asked if they offered sand-digging tools, and the reply was a cold, 'We only offer sand-digging tools during summer vacation.' Later, someone brought out a small doll from the back office, but my daughter, with quite some backbone, said, 'I don't need a gift anymore.' Throughout our stay, none of the staff we encountered proactively greeted us. Only the bellhop offered a smile and courtesy. Breakfast: Unbelievably chaotic. The variety, taste, hygiene, crowding, and queueing for breakfast were truly something I've rarely seen! Location: Genuinely excellent. The beach is right downstairs. We ordered sand-digging tools via delivery (only 20 yuan) and played for a long time. Other: Nobody is short of 20 yuan for sand-digging tools. What's missing is the hotel's consideration for guests' perspectives. Whether it's only summer vacation when you can dig sand or some other reason, the decision to only give out sand-digging tools during summer vacation is truly astounding.

The room view was absolutely stunning! The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a spectacular cityscape (seascape) view. It had a completely different vibe during the day and night. Especially in the evening, watching the city lights twinkle, you could truly soak in all the romance of the city. Every picture I took turned out amazing!

If you love the ocean, choose the Hyatt. Unbeatable sea views. The best part is that you can walk right out to the beach from the FF floor. Absolutely amazing!

This was our second stay at the Hyatt, and the kids absolutely loved it! They had a blast playing indoors, and it was great that they could dig in the sand right outside. The indoor pool has a small hot spring area that wasn't crowded, perfect for toddlers to splash around in. Breakfast has improved a lot, with a wide variety of options. We also had a fantastic New Year's Eve dinner at the '88' restaurant; the food was delicious.
