I also visited for one day in July and stayed in the Romantic Pool Villa. The experience was excellent - everyone from the front desk to all the staff were very friendly, which is why I came again this time and even arranged to stay for two nights.
However, I was very disappointed this time. I thought as a returning guest I would receive better treatment, but the hotel seemed to not care at all and didn't even notice. The room does have a sea view, there is no doubt about that.
But the front-of-house staff were not very welcoming. I drove here, and in July there was valet parking, but today they just told me to park by myself. I understand it might be due to staff shortage.
There were ants on the headboard of the bed, and on the day we left, we found dead ants on the bed - a bit scary, especially since the room rate is not cheap. The toilet drainage was very poor. Someone was sent to fix it, but when I said I wanted to change rooms, they didn't really pay much attention and just said it had been fixed. After that, they never followed up on our situation.
Breakfast was completely inedible, but the restaurant staff were the friendliest.
In short, there are so many hotels in Phuket, I chose to come back again, but it completely told me it wasn't worth it.
