I was planning to stay one night on Huangshan Mountain, and a local friend recommended this long-standing five-star hotel. I didn't have high expectations for hotels on the mountain, thinking it would primarily be about location, but my stay far exceeded them. Established in 1958, this old hotel underwent a renovation last year, and both its aesthetics and renovation quality are of a high standard. The lobby, restaurant, and many other areas showcase a decorative sense of artistic taste. Although the room isn't large, the Hansgrohe faucets, Kohler toilet, Bose Bluetooth speaker, and leg massager all reflect a sense of luxury. The biggest surprise was the hotel's capsule coffee machine, which even had a milk frother – something I hadn't encountered before. In short, whether it's the location (directly opposite 'Magical Pen Writing' and 'Monkey Gazing at the Sea') or its practicality, it offers both beauty and substance. The service was also impeccable. Upon check-in, I connected with the butler via WeChat, who provided a wealth of information and answered all my questions. In the evening, I wanted to stretch at the gym but found only treadmills and bicycles. I asked a staff member without much hope, and she actually found a super large yoga mat for me. Definitely a hotel worth staying at!

The concierge, designated as 'Heartfelt Butler', reached out beforehand with an itinerary for sunrise and sunset viewings. They even thoughtfully provided a small gift. I stayed here in early September. For sunset, you need to go to Baie Mountain Villa, which involves a bit of a climb. For sunrise, it's typically Shixin Peak, but I was too tired to climb again after the previous day, so I opted for the closer Shuguang Pavilion as a second-best option. The concierge mentioned that from May to August, you can see both sunrise and sunset from the hotel itself, but the viewing spots vary by season. However, I chose this hotel specifically because it was renovated last year, so all the facilities are quite new and comfortable. The room was indeed quite small. I didn't find the leg massager that some online reviews mentioned. I saw one in the room next door, so I'm not sure if it depends on the room type.

The room was clean and comfortable. They even thoughtfully provided down jackets and a massager. The butler checked in daily to ask if we needed anything and pre-arranged sunrise and sunset viewings for us. It's also incredibly close to 'Monkeys Watching the Sea' and 'Dream Flower Pen'!

The hotel is conveniently located near the Yunggu cable car. Rooms are equipped with thick down jackets, and the butler service is warm and attentive. After adding them on WeChat, you can contact them for any service requests. The hotel offers guided sunrise 🌅 and sunset 🌇 activities in the morning and evening. If you don't want to venture far, you can catch the sunrise from the Tongxin Lock observation deck right outside the hotel. It's about 100 meters from the 'Dream Pen Blooms' (Mengbi Shenghua) attraction, a 20-minute walk to 'Monkeys Watching the Sea' (Houzi Guanhai), and a 30-minute walk to Paiyun Pavilion. The hotel's à la carte restaurant serves a genuinely delicious 'Stinky Mandarin Fish' (Chou Gui Yu). Considering all the ingredients are carried up the mountain by porters, the premium price is understandable.

It's an unbeatable location for catching sunrises, cloud seas, and sunsets. 2. **Elegant Environment, Modern Facilities:** Having completed a full renovation in autumn 2025, the hotel offers comfortable and clean rooms with brand-new facilities. Notably, all room types are non-smoking, which is a great plus for guests who prioritize sleep quality. 3. **Warm Service, Thoughtful Details:** Guests consistently praise receptionist Xinyu for her genuine smile and patient answers to all inquiries. Housekeeping staff also proactively attend to guest needs. This meticulous attention to detail made me feel the 'warmth of home' at an altitude of 1630 meters on the mountain peak. 4. **Great Value for Money:** Among the luxury hotels on Huangshan's summit, Yunlu Beihai Hotel is considered by many guests to offer excellent value, thanks to its prime location, modern facilities, and top-notch service.

After a tiring climb up Huangshan, returning to the hotel was an instant cure. The hygiene details were meticulously handled, the space was spacious and airy, and the facilities were well-maintained. The staff were gentle and responsive to requests. After a long day of hiking, being able to rest in such a comfortable environment really added to the overall enjoyment of this trip.

Nestled atop the mountain, this hotel offers high-end amenities comparable to those at the base. The facilities are excellent, and the butler service is meticulous. The hotel even organizes sunrise and sunset viewings. It's also very close to Monkey Watching the Sea, just a 40-minute round trip, which is a fantastic spot. The room was incredibly quiet, perfect for a good night's rest after a tiring day. I'd definitely come back if I have the chance!
