Yangxian Village, Wangxian Valley

This hotel really left a deep impression on me. I don't have enough eloquent words to describe its beauty, but the moment the lights came on at night, my mind instantly told me that this was truly as impactful as the Forbidden City. Don't even talk about it being man-made; how many buildings on this planet aren't man-made anyway?

The check-in process was very fast. However, the rooms are a bit far from the main guesthouse reception, so we needed a staff member to guide us. But the young lady guiding us seemed confused about how many guests she was assigned to and ended up leading someone else away instead... Also, while there's a direct elevator up from the B1 restaurant, she had us lug our suitcases up the stairs to the ground floor before taking the elevator 😖. She was far too inexperienced. On the plus side, the room was impeccably clean and tidy, complete with welcome snacks (passion fruit and oranges). The breakfast was also rich and varied.

Immersive Location: Built into the mountainside, it's set on higher ground, avoiding the hustle and bustle of the main street. It's a 5-minute walk to key scenic spots like Qingyun Bridge, and you can catch a stunning sunset from the rooftop in the evening. The breakfast at Baihe Restaurant is delicious. You can also visit the百年围楼 (Centennial Enclosed Building) to enjoy freshly prepared Qianshan noodles while watching Gan Opera, making for a truly memorable experience. Smart Hardware: As a newer phase, the rooms have upgraded hardware, generally featuring floor heating, smart toilets, and voice-controlled central systems. Stay Benefits: Typically includes two 2-day valid scenic area tickets, free parking, and complimentary shuttle service within the scenic area.

Transportation: No butler contacted us in advance regarding check-in procedures. For a hotel of this caliber, having a butler is already standard practice—poor review. Once inside the scenic area, the signage was unclear. I had to ask two security guards and went the wrong way once before finally finding the minshuku (guesthouse) center, which has a parking lot next to it. Service: We were assigned a butler only after completing the check-in process. Cleanliness: Poor, as shown in the photos. Small bugs are acceptable, but large flies are not. Breakfast: Very cumbersome. I had two separate bookings from different platforms for the same room type, yet the breakfast locations were different. Voucher redemption was handled via an SMS link, which made it inconvenient for elderly guests and caused them to go to the wrong restaurant, after which they were asked to go to another one. Very user-unfriendly. Poor review. Others: Misleading advertising. As shown in the pictures below, I believe many people, like myself, travel frequently and place a high value on accommodation experience. I was completely misled by the hotel. At first glance, the cover photo and reviews made it seem like we would be staying in a distinctive traditional tulou (round earthen building). However, upon arrival at the front desk, it turned out to be a 'blind box' assignment—not the tulou we imagined at all, but rather a ground-floor room right next to the hallway. I'm sure many others have been misled as well. Ctrip's communication with the hotel offered no compensation to me personally, basically dismissing it as 'just the way the rules are.' Compensation isn't the main issue; after struggling for nearly three hours from check-in, it was utterly speechless. Although we were eventually offered a room change, we didn't get to stay in a tulou because the elderly were already asleep and we didn't want to cause further hassle. As a Ctrip loyalist of over a dozen years and a Diamond VIP member, I rarely write reviews, but I hope this helps others.
