Wow ! This hotel is exceptionally beautiful with great service. We had room 24 and it is nestled amount the beautiful and historic wooden beams- with a small view of the garden. The Molton Brown products are a treat. Comfy sleep . There was a mix up with my booking and they were understanding and did not charge me - which is appreciated. Breakfast is AMAZING

The hotel is in a beautiful restored old building in a great location. A bountiful breakfast buffet and great service as well.

This is a decent hotel but unfortunately falls short of a 5 star standard. The feedback I have is not dramatic but it determines or fails the luxury experience: Reception/valet: we had pre booked the valet and were asked to leave the car by the front gate. Upon arrival my wife went to the reception, expecting someone to join us to offload the car. We were told we had to haul our stuff in ourselves. Not the definition of valet in my experience. Rooms: we had booked a superior room. Good standard but shower very narrow and subject to flooding with small bath towels. Doesn’t give a luxury vibe. Breakfast: a selection of sliced cheese, all blandly similar in taste. Even the cooked ham has no character. Fruit selection - we had breakfast 4 times and it was clear the cut fruit was carried forward from one day to the next. When my partner complained about the watermelon not being fresh the waitress said she would check with the kitchen and never followed up with us. The whole breakfast experience has a bit of a cafetaria feel. The hotel is located centrally and in a handsome building but it lacks 5 star service across the board. Maybe the rave reviews have lulled the management to sleep but there is work to be done.✅

From the moment we arrived, it was outstanding. Warm welcome, assistance with the luggage from charming Young lady, check-in seamless not asking for crédit card etc. The room (31) was amazing, well maintained and great amenities. We had lunch in the brasserie and dinner in Nassau. Nassau was outstanding from the decor, the attentive service (with very knowledegeble team knowing and explainning with passion every ingrédient….. and have Great Wine recommendation)…… very rare to experience this. The dishes were amazing, very well presented and a delight to enjoy. Both kitchen crew and service team should be very proud of the outcome and experience they deliver. Well done

Second visit to the hotel and it is really a lovely place. Service is excellent and the rooms are very comfortable. The location is probably the prettiest in the city but whether it’s central is more questionable. It certainly is some distance from the station. We stayed on a package, which includes breakfast and one set dinner in the brasserie. It’s good value. I had stayed at the hotel exactly one year before. Prices are moving up. A stocked minibar is provided (with the contents without charge). A small bottle of wine was nice, but more general contents, like sodas would probably work better. One odd thing with the package you need to sign a slip with the breakfast cost each morning. It’s not charged to your room but seems to be for their own internal accounting. For me it seems odd - they already have a list of who has a paid breakfast - but it’s not a big deal. The included breakfast like many in hotels in the Netherlands is a very full offering. Good quality products here although there can be a wait for the coffee machine. They will if you ask (they are inconsistent in offering it to you) make up egg dishes to order as well. Would I return? Yes, although if prices go higher I might take longer to think about it in the future.

Hotel Prinsenhof is a must stay! This was my second time staying here and it was just as enchanting at the first. The rooms are spacious and clean with a boutique hotel feel and the breakfast was delightful. I will definitely be staying here anytime I am in Groningen.

Hotel Prinsenhof is a very nicely restored old churchbuilding. The rooms are nice and spacious, the staff very helpful and professional, and the restaurants look great. Certainly recommendable! Unless you are in room 35: then you will find that the shower is very small. So small that it is no fun to have a shower there. Comment from the reception: oh yeah, we know, next time we can arrange another room for you. I would suggest future guests to check when booking that you have another room. And a recommendation to the management: do something about it, there is sufficient space.

Lovely quiet hotel tucked inside a medieval square. Charming, polite and attentive service. Not easy to do, but all credit to the staff involved

Fabulous hotel with friendly staff, lovely rooms, great restaurant and super accommodating with our dog. Would highly recommend!
