Palacio Tondon, la Rioja Brinas

Our room (201) was without hot water for the first night and the next morning. No other suite available so we had to walk in our robes down the hall, to the elevator, and down the hall again carrying our toiletries to shower in another room with broken glass (Room 002) for two days. No compensation was offered. The main reason for staying at this location was for the wine tasting cave room that was closed for maintenance. No compensation offered. Dinner was pleasant but only two staff members so service was pleasant extremely slow. No other restaurants in the area.

Good Hotel in Lovely village Lovely hotel in great village. Lovely soft bed. Other than breakfast l really wouldn’t fault. Breakfast was good but maybe not as good as everything else. Staff at reception are perfect.

Love the location. Excellent service. Drive to all centralize Rioja bodegas. Very quiet and peacefull place. Excellent rooms and soft pillows. Excellent bath and shower. Only a couple of places to eat walking distance but if you have a car excellent choices in Haro at 10 minutes. Would stay here again at any time.

Peace in Rioja A wonderful hotel in a peaceful setting along the river. A fantastic choice to escape the noise and crowds of tourists in the major cities visited. Hotel is very conveniently located to visit Rioja's best bodegas. Staff are lovely and most helpful in arranging tours. Hotel has one minor deficiency in a curiously noisy plumbing system.

Before you book this hotel, bear in mind that the rooms shown in the photos are NOT necessarily will be provided. The so-called luxury river view rooms are not as shown and the river view is not as expansive as we’d expected or hoped. The hotel did nothing but make excuses about it. Furthermore, the air conditioning is not very effective at all and, oddly, controlled from reception. So, if you turn us down, they can turn it right back up again! We found the room incredibly hot (in May, imagine July!!) and we managed to secure a fan. The location is lovely and the hotel is pretty nice but the rooms are standard corporate fodder. There are far nicer places to stay so look around before you decide. The village is beautiful.

Great river setting and views from restaurant! Loved the location by the river, the cellar and views of the gym. Although the rooms are comfortable and big, the interior design was very incoherent, with multiple types of wood - floor, walls, ceiling. Which made for a very disjointed visual experience. Also the showers need to be sealed better as it was leaking on the wood floors everytime we showered.
