Willington Hall Hotel

This was a very last minute booking on a busy weekend so we weren’t too sure what the room would be like. The hotel itself is beautiful, proper country house, grade 2 listed and kept in a non glitzy, classic manner. Not super slick like some over done up ‘country’ house hotels, just super comfortable. Gorgeous building, lovely terrace, long country views, it was just peaceful and nice. The staff were young but full of smiles, more than competent and the service was good. The food was excellent. We only stayed one night but would def stay again.

Lovely meal at Willington Hall. There was no trouble for them to accommodate the fact that two of our party don’t eat garlic. The chef was able to adapt their choice of food. That is going the extra mile .

two lovely restful days at this beautiful hotel. Our room was a classic double, beautifully furnished, comfy bed, overlooking the front entrance. The dining room and lounge areas are immaculate, perfect for relaxation On half board basis, the food was excellent, with good choices for breakfast and evening meal. All were served by very excellent, friendly and professional young staff, for which we thank them. I would definitely recommend this hotel either for a short break, something special or a wedding

Went here for a meal and drink. Hottest day of the year so far (25th May) so we sat on the terrace with stunning views of the gardens and Cheshire countryside. Location stunning Service was brilliant Food was excellent.

Very disappointed in the service : booked a special birthday dinner with friends . Upon arrival shown I to the bar to wait for guests to arrive : only two young staff members serving in a very busy bar - clearly struggling . Had booked champagne to be served to guests upon arrival . Had to go and find out where it was ! Dinner booking/ serving was slow - one appetiser course incorrect - followed by correct order some 5 mins later- guest therefore had two appetisers in front of him . Waited so long for main course to arrive that guest went to enquire where our meal was - young waiter apologised and explained that they only had one chef on that night . Only two tables covered in main dining room for dinner although bar food area might have been busy . Desserts arrived . Had requested a ‘special ‘ gesture for birthday lady by way of a candle - that failed to happen . Had organised special table flowers for the evening and had been assured the previous day during booking that they would ensure the dinner would reflect a ‘special’ event for the birthday lady ….very expensive and very ordinary …. Later in the week attended a club afternoon tea event - again very slow service particularly in the bar - one member of staff said she had never done bar work before when it was obvious customers were becoming impatient and some questioned the type of glasses that their drinks were being served in ! Beautiful setting and lovely building - such a shame that the service & dining experience lets it down .

Willington Hall Tarporley Cheshire. A bygone era of stately country houses serving ..just about ... A Sunday Lunch ! The menu including Beef/Pork/Fish etc and promising Yorkshire Pud where appropriate.. (But Didn't Arrive) ! Young pleasant staff hardly under pressure took an age to take our order which was eventually served by kitchen staff in grubby Chef Attire. Gastro pubs in the Area very busy... So work to do ... Willington!! Yorkshire Pud arrived eventually with ... apology... Far too late in my opinion. Food OK !

We married there 40 years ago, had a fabulous Time and wanted to « celebrate » with family … but what a disapointment .. Unfriendly hostess, zero flexibility with « rules ». ( We booked three rooms for four days so could have expected some degree of flexibility - hotel definitely not full !-). Overpriced . Slow service. Food not great. Fabulous location and potential, though: a pitty really.

I held a business event at Willington. A mini retreat about social media and I loved it and so did everyone who came along. The hotel and staff were super super friendly and went out of their way to help. The food and the mocktails were STUNNING! and the venue speaks for itself. Dreamy! Thank you Moira and team we will be back very soon! Highly recommend !

Terrible experience today; I had booked for afternoon tea for my friends and they had the booking down incorrectly for 16 February and marked me as a ‘no show’ I was in India on the 16th and simply didn’t book for this date. They said we could have a scone each a glass of Prosecco and tea and coffee! They asked me to pay for four more scones and another desert, which I did. It was embarrassing and I was made to feel awful. Won’t be going again… the only good thing was my friend said the afternoon tea looked pretty pathetic anyway
