Great experience and definitely a unique one. The staff treats the elephants well.

One of the coolest experiences I had in Thailand. Our guides were Sorn and Via, and they were the kind, funny, and knowledgeable about so many things. Couldn’t have asked for better guides, would highly recommend requesting them!

We had a wonderful day tour with the elephants at Chai Lai Orchid. Our guides, Thai and Via, we very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us many opportunities to interact with the elephants ta (and their babies!) as well as making us a delicious lunch. We would highly recommend a visit to Chai Lai Orchid.

Chai Lai Orchid is such a beautiful place & the elephants are so looked after. Accommodation is basic but they've made it look beautiful & you have everything you need (electric sockets, fans, flushing toilet, shower, towels, bottles of water, hairdryer). Our guide was B.B. and he was just amazing, his English was great & he was extremely knowledgeable. He took care of us from the minute we arrived until the minute we had to sadly say goodbye. The hike to the waterfall, walking through rice fields past the water buffalo, stopping to prepare and cook lunch with him, evening meal, breakfast, lunch the next day, all included & was all extremely good food. I haven't even mentioned the elephants yet! This place is so much more! But yeah, the elephants, just wow... the experience of feeding them, splashing them with water, being able to touch an elephant is out of this world & one I'll never forget. I wouldn't book a photoshoot, the guides take plenty of pictures for you with your phone & there is no shortage of opportunities to get photos with the elephants, we literally got over 300 photos in one day! B.B., you were such a great guide & we hope to be back again in the near future. If you're considering visiting Chai Lai Orchid... Book it! You won't regret it.

My daughter and I (2 female travelers) had an amazing 2 day-1 night adventure booked through the Chai Lai Orchid with Lar staying at his Karen Village homestay in one of the guest bungalows he built himself. Our adventure day was bamboo rafting the river, hiking to a waterfall and cooking with him and his wife for a campfire lunch next to the waterfall, then another hike through the mountain rice fields to his village. His family was so kind and Lar taught us so much about his mountain life. He was funny, open, generous, kind, interesting and interested. Speaks very good English and has a wonderful soul. We can’t wait to book with him again with bringing a couple more family members along. It’s important to be in reasonably good physical shape to enjoy this trip with Lar! Our second day meeting, feeding, and washing the elephants at the Chai Lai Orchard was also wonderful. What lovely creatures. The Chai Lai Orchid grounds for lunch were also very pleasant. We are so enriched by our experience. Definitely book with Lar. As Lar says “everything is possible in Thailand.” Thank Lar and Chai Lai Orchid.
