DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE
We stayed for one night, and from the welcome to the departure the experience was terrible. As soon as we arrived, I needed to exchange money to pay the taxi, but they couldn’t even understand what we were saying. They just kept replying “reception, reception,” which immediately made it clear that their English and the level of the person responsible for welcoming guests were almost nonexistent. Luckily the taxi driver was there and helped us within two minutes without charging anything extra.
Right after that, while they were explaining the room details, they told me I was not allowed to go to the eco-trekking area, saying that space was only for the upper apartments which had paid less than us, while we would be staying in the lower suites. This was clearly not true, since we went there ourselves shortly after check-in without any issue.
They also didn’t offer water or a refreshing towel, which is something you would normally expect from a 4+ star hotel.
The next morning, while we wanted to rest a bit after breakfast because we had a 13-hour flight, they decided to start cutting trees and bushes, sweeping the outdoor areas, and even doing renovation work in the neighboring and upper apartments. This made it impossible for us to relax and enjoy the last 2–3 hours we had left at the hotel.
Finally, the rooms were very old and dirty. Honestly, I don’t know what exactly they were renovating in the other rooms, or if it was done intentionally to push us to leave.
Never again at Pakasai. The worst experience we had in Thailand.
