A Perfect Birthday Stay at Pakasai Resort! I stayed at Pakasai Resort in Ao Nang, Krabi for 2 nights (June 22–24) and couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience—especially for my birthday! I originally only hoped for a room upgrade, but the resort went far beyond my expectations and made my celebration truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, and the surprises didn’t stop there. On my birthday, I was greeted with a beautiful birthday cake, a thoughtful message arranged on the bed, and genuinely heartfelt service throughout the day. I also booked dinner at GAIA, the resort’s own restaurant, and was treated to a free cocktail to celebrate. The atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent—it was the perfect birthday dinner. The resort itself is cozy and peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery that makes you feel close to nature. The pool area is lovely and relaxing, and the entire resort has a calm, welcoming vibe. Overall, I felt truly taken care of during my stay. I highly recommend Pakasai Resort to anyone visiting Ao Nang, especially if you're looking for a place that combines comfort, nature, and genuinely caring service. I’m already thinking about coming back!

This hotel, other than the two dining areas which have been updated and are quite nice, is very old and tired looking. Housekeeping is between atrocious and non existent. On returning to our room at 15:00 on day one room not made up, day two not made up on return at 16:00. Chased up housekeeping to clean room. Third day returned to room at 16:15 and room not made up. They knocked on our door at 16:50 to make up our room but as we were getting cleaned up and ready to go out told them to not bother. Interestingly on the day we checked out I left a couple of bottles of water in the fridge in our room, went to grab them and our room was being made up at 09:50. Absurd. Also while the hotel is "campaigning to join the Smoke Free Hotel Program for a better living" and that is all good for them, the hotel needs to clearly outline this on their web site. We had a nonsmoking room which you could not smoke in like every other hotel I have stayed in over the past 15 years or so. However I have never stayed in a hotel where you were not allowed to smoke on the balcony. Also there was only one smoking area to use (other than a small smoking area in the pool area which was adequate) and it was uncovered. Apparently it rains in Thailand?? I would have never booked into the hotel if I was aware of these restrictions and the 20 or so people I spoke to in the smoking area were all of the same view. None of us would ever return. Additionally spa was closed, swimming pool is not a swimming pool but rather a wading pool (max depth 1.2m), drink selections on menu were not available (spirits and wine) and restaurant was quite expensive.
