The 27th global Rosewood luxury hotel. I originally planned to book the Park Hyatt, but I booked too late before my trip and there were no rooms available, so I chose the Rosewood. The location is excellent, it's small yet exquisite, and perfect for city walks. We stayed for two nights and it was incredibly convenient for exploring and dining.
**Design**
The hotel is 30 stories high, with a design inspired by the Thai 'wai' (Sawasdee) greeting. The architectural exterior is unique, with a low-key luxurious and modern-retro design. The hardware is impeccable. You take the elevator to the 7th floor for the lobby, where the Rosewood's exquisite design and aesthetic beauty are fully showcased. However, the overall public area style is a bit dim, while the rooms are bright.
**Location**
Located in the core business district, directly opposite Central Embassy, surrounded by shopping malls. You can walk out and find everything for shopping, eating, drinking, and entertainment. The massage place opposite is cheap and comfortable, making me want to go every day. Bangkok traffic is notorious, but the Rosewood's third floor connects directly to the Skytrain and a BTS sky bridge, making it very safe and convenient to go anywhere. It's so enjoyable to return to the hotel and relax after a long walk, or to shop, come back to drop off your things, and then continue shopping. It's also a convenient 15-minute walk to the Erawan Shrine, and very close to the famous Dior golden building and LV cafe.
**Room**
I booked a deluxe double room, a basic room type, for two nights. I specifically requested a high floor in advance because I heard rooms facing the street can be noisy. Upon arrival, the front desk said they upgraded me, but I was still only given an 11th-floor room. I recommend a higher floor for better views. The welcome fruit was very simple, just longans, nothing else. Others mentioned design key cards, but perhaps that's not for the basic room type. The room has super large floor-to-ceiling windows, and from a high floor, you get expansive views of Bangkok's bustling cityscape, with the skyline within reach. The rooms start at 42 square meters, which is generally sufficient. There's a walk-in closet, an entryway, and a sofa area. The room's color scheme is gentle and refined, with hollow window grille designs, a white and gold palette plus Thai carved screens. The bedding is comfortable, and it comes with a Dyson hairdryer and a smart toilet – basic amenities. Soft drinks are free, but snacks and alcohol are chargeable. The turndown service was quite simple. The bathroom vanity has an unbeatable view and excellent lighting.
**Facilities**
Books and artworks are displayed on every floor in the public areas, adding to the overall refinement. The pool is a saltwater pool, but the pool view is average. The Spa and gym are both good. The restaurant is very photogenic. I love the Rosewood's lighting and soft furnishings. The ceiling design is inspired, full of details, and it's the best-designed area of the entire hotel, with a great atmosphere.
**Service**
The staff are generally polite and friendly. There's a young man at the front desk who speaks simple Chinese, which made communication easier. After check-in, a butler escorted us to our room for a room tour. The restaurant service was also very attentive, maintaining consistent quality.
**Dining**
Breakfast is a semi-buffet. The boat noodles and eggs Benedict were delicious. We didn't get to visit the North and South restaurants, which is a small regret for next time. Lennon bar is a must-visit rooftop bar with a retro style, offering cocktails for 450-550 Thai Baht each. It boasts over 6,000 vinyl records; you can choose one to play, and there are live performances too.
Just a 3-minute walk down the alley opposite the Rosewood, there's a massage place called Pitipapa. Call ahead to book; it's absolutely fantastic.
The Rosewood is a typical city hotel, perfect for a city walk and urban vacation life. It offers a sense of relaxation in the city center, bringing a great feeling of happiness.
