Anantara Angkor Resort

The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. The shower worked great, but the bathtub was too old for me to use. The hotel had events, including a beautiful fairy dance performance. The hotel restaurant served excellent food at reasonable prices. All staff members, including the baggage handlers, front desk, and restaurant staff, spoke excellent English. The guests were all very well-behaved and quiet. Although the hotel isn't large, I slept very well after being out and about all day. The front desk added me on WhatsApp, so I could communicate any issues directly and get immediate solutions, which was much more efficient than calling.

The place was generally clean, and they even offered desserts every night. However, the private pool was too small to swim in.

Our stay had a heartwarming highlight: a young woman with braces at the front desk was incredibly friendly and patient during our interactions. The entire service was in Chinese. The lady pictured here was excellent! 👍 However, the duty manager on shift provided a very poor experience; he wore a frown the entire time and lacked any smile. His service attitude was stiff and fell far short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel. I even saw him laughing and joking with colleagues in the office area, lacking the professionalism expected of management. Compared to boutique and budget hotels within Siem Reap, where they offer welcome cold towels upon arrival and staff proactively and kindly inquire about your stay, the basic service experience there was actually superior to this Anantara.

The breakfast here is arguably top-notch for Angkor, but the room type feels a bit dated. The free steam room and sauna are worth trying. The location is a bit out of the way, but since I rented a motorbike, I found it acceptable. The Apsara show in the evening was quite good.

The room was clean and spacious, with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. It was such a pleasant environment. But what really stood out was the hotel's thoughtful and attentive service. Yuki, who assisted us, was so professional and kind. We're especially grateful for her help in recovering a lost phone. Being in a foreign country, that act of kindness truly made us feel warm and cared for. A heartfelt thank you!

The hotel isn't in downtown, but it's very convenient for visiting Angkor Wat. 1. The hotel's service is genuinely good. Whenever you ask about anything, especially car fares, they'll tell you that the hotel's car service is more expensive than outside options and recommend more economical ways. Very honest. 2. It might be the low season, so there aren't many people. The breakfast isn't great, but there's a menu where you can order some decent options. 3. The room is quite spacious and well-designed. I really liked the layout, though it's clearly a bit old, it's very well-maintained.
