Le Château d'Asnières en Bessin

We recently enjoyed a wonderful three-day stay at this charming château B&B in Normandy and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Carl and Sabine were exceptional hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their friendly dog, Newton, was an added bonus and quickly became one of the highlights of our stay. The property itself is beautiful, with a stunning backyard that offers spectacular sunset views each evening. One night, we brought back a meal and spent the evening relaxing outdoors, enjoying the peaceful setting and watching the sun dip below the horizon. It was truly memorable. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Each morning, we looked forward to the delicious breakfasts, which were a perfect way to start the day. The location is also ideal, providing convenient access to the Normandy beaches and nearby attractions while still offering a quiet and tranquil retreat. If you're looking for a welcoming, comfortable, and picturesque place to stay in Normandy, we highly recommend this château B&B. Thank you, Carl, Sabine, and Newton, for a wonderful visit. A lovely country estate near the D day beaches. So the doors shut neatly? Maybe not for a300 year old chateau, but that’s not why you stay there. Ten minutes from Omaha beach makes it a wonderful place for time traveling. Excellent croissants for breakfast, though the coffee could be a little hotter. Warmly received by the oatron and his charming dog Newton. Way cooler than a not very schmancy hotel…

Parking was included. Carl is a professional cook so breakfast was lovely and plentiful. There is a lot of steps so if an individual has a mobility issue not the best place for them. Probably one of the most historic places we stayed near the Omaha beach. Central to everything yet very peaceful.

Great location to visit Normandy sites. Our Host Karl was personable & helpful., Breakfast was delicious & plentiful. Our room was enchanting w/tower bath unique & clean. The chateau itself, like so many retains old world features.

All was excellent. Location was ideal—close to the sea and close to D-Day related sites.

Fits right in with rustic, rural Normandy. Fantastic bread and breakfast. Amazing 13th and 17th century architecture that adds to a visit to Normandy.

Excellent Choice! An incredible experience and a perfect location in Normandy. Carl was exceptionally helpful with suggestions for when/where to visit and made dinner reservations for us each night. Breakfast was excellent and the property and room were both beatuiful.

Our stay was fabulous! Carl and Sabine were very welcoming. The continental breakfast was delicious. They were so helpful with dinner reservations and how to navigate the sights to see. Highly recommend this beautiful Chateau for a restful stay!

Host was gracious and helpful, the breakfast was excellent. The house is old and a bit rustic but that's the experience we wanted. It is close to the areas we wanted to visit. It was a great experience overall. Would stay there again.
