Hotel Indigo XIAMEN HARBOUR by IHG

I chose the Indigo Hotel for my trip to Xiamen with my daughter at the end of April. The hotel manager proactively contacted me a day in advance to ask about any special requests, which was really nice! They even upgraded my room type! We checked in at 9 PM that night, and as soon as I entered the room, I was captivated by the night sea view! But actually, the sea view the next morning was even more refreshing! I stayed on the 12th floor, and the higher floor definitely offered a better view! The hotel has a rich artistic atmosphere. From the small ornaments displayed at the front desk, to the decorations in the corridors and restaurant, and the 'Pop Art' background wall in the room, everything was eye-catching and interesting. The breakfast offered a wide variety of hot dishes. I really enjoyed the Shacha noodles, wontons, and fish ball soup. The donuts were a hit with my child, and I was pleasantly surprised to find Oden on the breakfast menu too! 👍☺️😆 The staff were prompt in tidying up the room. Larissa, the hotel manager, was very thoughtful and attentive. During our stay, she also provided us with recommendations for nearby snacks and restaurants, which we tried and were very happy with! I would definitely choose Indigo again if I get the chance to visit Xiamen!

A truly wonderful stay! The room decor was unique and stylish, featuring traditional Southern Fujian architecture. The room was clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable experience, and the sea view was absolutely stunning – directly facing Gulangyu Island. Our butler, Coco, was incredibly warm and attentive. She helped us get a high-floor room with a sea view and even gave us a custom fridge magnet upon checkout, which was a super nice touch. Very satisfied! I'll definitely be back!!

Our overall stay was excellent. The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to Zhongshan Road and Bashi Market, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. The breakfast offered a rich variety, including many local specialties, and everything tasted very authentic. The only minor drawback was some wind noise from the window on the sea-facing side. Other than that, we were very satisfied with everything. The view was great, and it was super comfortable to enjoy the sea view. Overall, it offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth staying at when you visit Xiamen.

This could have been a five-star review, but unfortunately, the fifth-floor terrace was swarming with tiny bugs. Within seconds, they were all over me – it was terrifying! Aside from that, everything else was quite satisfactory. The location is very convenient, and it's a decent, no-frills place.

The service was incredibly warm and thoughtful! Our butler, Zizi, was so gentle and attentive, a dream for anyone who appreciates attention to detail. From the concierge to the front desk, restaurant staff, and even the housekeeping team, everyone was incredibly welcoming. Our stay was absolutely perfect! My kid especially loved the unique little room key card. Spotlessly clean! Every corner of the room was immaculately clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable – perfect for a good night's sleep! Fantastic location! Right in the heart of Lujiang Road, offering unparalleled views of Gulangyu Island! Zhongshan Road is just a short walk away, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient!

The room decor is quite interesting, with an Indigo blue theme and a painting on the wall that has an Andy Warhol vibe. The restaurant boasts a classical style, very grand and elegant. From the window, you get a full view of Gulangyu Island and Heping Wharf. I absolutely loved the unique room layout. The service attitude was top-notch, truly first-class. My only complaint is that the wooden walls and carpets on the hotel floors are so old they really need to be replaced immediately. The 'Indigo' sign at the main entrance also needs a good cleaning, and the entire front facade of the building could use a wash.

Let's start with the positives: the service was excellent, truly butler-style, with very prompt responses. All our issues were resolved immediately. The location is superb – we had a full view of Gulangyu Island right from our room, just across the river, and Zhongshan Road was within walking distance. The bed was also very comfortable. Now for the negatives: the facilities are quite old. The TV, in particular, looked like it was from ten years ago; it couldn't connect to the internet, only offered live TV, and many channels had poor picture quality with static, plus there weren't many channels to choose from. The coffee machine in the room didn't work after much fiddling, but they did send someone to fix it very quickly. There were also mosquitoes, but thankfully, when I asked the butler, mosquito repellent and bug spray were sent to our room right away.

This trip to Xiamen, I chose the best location and the most scenic hotel, Hotel Indigo. Larissa provided excellent service; she was a beautiful and kind young lady, very enthusiastic and patient. She even upgraded us to the most beautiful 270-degree sea view room! The staff at the restaurant were also very welcoming. Our five-day, four-night stay was fantastic! 👍 Many thanks! 🙏

The Indigo Xiamen Harbour really shines because of its location – after all, location is key for a hotel! It's super close to all the main attractions, making it incredibly convenient whether you're taking a taxi or public transport. Our butler, COCO, was incredibly thoughtful and upgraded our room, which was a fantastic experience! If I had to give a tiny bit of feedback, it would be that a swimming pool would make it absolutely perfect! Also, it would be great if the breakfast could be a bit more varied!
