The Bloc Hotel Phuket

A wonderful hotel right in the heart of the city with great sea-view rooms. The rooms are lovely and clean, cleaned every day, and the breakfast at the adjacent café with real coffee is delicious!

The location is excellent, just across the road from Patong Beach. The hotel has a rooftop pool. Breakfast is served at the coffee shop next door with a voucher; it's a set menu and tastes good. The room was very clean, and the hotel staff were all very welcoming and friendly.

As you already know, I had issues right upon checking in at this hotel. I contacted you, and with your help, the problem was partially resolved. However, experiencing that kind of stress right at the beginning really puts a damper on your vacation. No matter how understanding you try to be, it inevitably affects you. Although the hotel is close to the sea, its location is extremely noisy. Because of a surf pool at the adjacent hotel with constantly loud music, and the fact that it's situated right along a busy traffic route, all the traffic noise echoes inside the hotel. On top of that, there is excessive noise coming from the other rooms. Most importantly, half of the hotel faces a solid wall. Even though they gave me this as a "quiet room," I was willing to overlook it because the other side is so noisy. However, these wall-facing rooms are extremely damp and smell heavily of mold and mildew. Ultimately, despite the noise, the rooms on the noisy side had much less dampness and mold odor. Staying under these conditions at this price makes no sense whatsoever. Furthermore, although I specifically requested a room far from the elevator, I was given a problematic room right next to it. The sink in this room kept clogging for a full 15 days. No matter how many times I reported it, it took them 15 days to finally believe me and call a plumber. The issue was resolved after a long time, but I was upset and inconvenienced. On the first day, the male and female front desk staff tried to force the wall-facing room on me and provided false and misleading information about it. All in all, I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. The other staff members were helpful and nice people, so I can't say anything bad about them. Also, because the windows in the rooms are permanently sealed shut, there was a constant buildup of dust, though I wouldn't call the housekeeping bad.

My experience at the hotel was unfortunately very bad and absolutely did not match the high price I paid. The room suffered from obvious dampness, and the air conditioner noise was constantly loud and disturbing. In addition, the noise from cars outside was bothersome, making it difficult to sleep and relax in the room. Even worse, I handed over my clothes to the hotel for laundry. After receiving them, I was surprised to find that one item had changed color and was damaged after washing. I reported the problem to the person in charge, and instead of dealing with it seriously, the item was left at the reception for 3 days without any solution or result. Frankly, I felt that the issue was ignored, and I did not find the attention or responsibility I would expect from a hotel of this caliber and price. To be completely honest, the price is very high compared to the level of the room, service, and handling. I expected a much better experience, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing one, and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and service that matches the price paid.

We booked two rooms and paid a 2000 deposit for both. We stayed for 6 nights. On the first day, both rooms had bathrobes. After the cleaning staff tidied up, the bathrobes were gone. By checkout, there was only one bathrobe left between the two rooms. We noticed the bathrobes were missing sometime in between, but thought it was fine since we don't really use them much, so we didn't bother asking the front desk for them. It was clearly the cleaning lady who took them while tidying up, yet they insisted we took their bathrobes and wanted to deduct from our deposit. If they want to keep the deposit, there are less obvious ways to do it, right? Taking things during cleaning just to deduct the deposit? Next time, try taking something else. Claiming we took the bathrobes is a bit much.

Top location, small gym on the 5th floor, and a competent staff. The only downside was the side room facing the surf attraction with music playing until late... but anyone staying in this area should be aware of its central and lively atmosphere, full of young people.
