Golden Temple Retreat

A lovely hotel with even lovelier staff. Everyone was very kind and they brought snacks one night to the room and had fruit when I arrived. It’s less than 10 minutes to walk into the old town, as well as to the airport bus stop. And the swimming pool through the middle is pretty too

An incredible hotel! The staff is super friendly! The spa is good! (A bit pricey for the local market) Relatively close to the pub street. Right across the street, there is an amazing and cheap laundry service!! The pool cocktails are super delicious and not expensive at all ($5, and that's even without the 1+1 deal). Large, beautiful, and comfortable rooms. In short—highly recommended!

I’ve stayed in a lot of beautiful hotels around the world, but Golden Temple Retreat in Siem Reap was something different. Yes, the hotel itself is incredible. I had the pool access suite with the bathtub, a beautiful porch with a swing and literally steps going straight into the pool. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, the robes, the flowers and little details every morning, room service, amazing food, the Apsara cultural dance show and an incredible 6 course dinner. I loved being able to come back after exploring Angkor Wat all day and swim at night. Even the little surprises like bringing me banana chips and a Cambodian tale to read made this place feel special. But what I’ll remember most is the PEOPLE. Sim Simbap, Justine and Toll were absolutely amazing to me. They remembered my name, my room, what I liked and somehow always seemed to know what I needed before I even asked. Toll took incredible care of me with transportation, Justine made me feel welcomed and looked after from the front desk, and Sim Simbap showed the same genuine warmth and hospitality that seemed to run through this entire place. Even the restaurant staff and the security guys who helped me with my scooter every day made me feel like I wasn’t just another guest passing through. There are luxury hotels everywhere. Beautiful pools, expensive rooms and good food can be found all over the world. What you can’t manufacture is genuine warmth. Golden Temple Retreat has that. There were smiles everywhere, little acts of kindness everywhere and a level of attention that made me feel truly cared for. By the time I left, it honestly felt less like checking out of a hotel and more like saying goodbye to people who had welcomed me into their home. Cambodia was already special to me because of Angkor Wat and everything I experienced there, but Golden Temple Retreat became part of that memory too. Thank you Sim Simbap, Justine, Toll and the entire Golden Temple Retreat family. You guys gave me much more than a beautiful place to sleep.. you gave me an experience I’ll genuinely remember. Best stay in siem reap Tiptop service. Nice and comfortable room. Good breakfast. Nice swimming pool as well.
