The Old Parliament Building in The Hague is a classical building in the 17th century. It has a beautiful spout and neatly opposed window design. From here, you can feel the solemn and simple spirit of perseverance. The Ridderzaal (Knights'Hall) in the inner courtyard of the Houses of Parliament is the heart of Parliament, a Gothic building with magnificent stained glass windows depicting the coat of arms of the Dutch town; particularly worthy Mention is made of the rose window with the coat of arms of the major Dutch families, with a heavy transomed roof and a structure in the shape of an overturned ship. This symbolizes the wooden head of an eavesdropper from a higher power, which can deter members of the assembly from lying. Every year on the third Tuesday of September, on Prinsjesdag, the day when Parliament is in session, the Dutch monarch arrives here in a golden carriage to deliver his throne speech. Formal receptions and inter-parliamentary meetings are also held here. Until 1992, it was the seat of the second house of the Dutch Parliament, the Dutch House of Commons. During the recess of the Congress, it will be open to visit, and the open part has two parliamentary halls and exhibition rooms.
