Lemeng Hotel (Beijing Houhai Drum Tower)

It looks pretty in pictures but I would not stay here again. Clean: Not clean! There were marks on the walls, on the shower. The sink and windowsill had giant cracks in it. I found a dead bug in my room and the privacy curtains were grey with dirt. A LOT of mosquitos! Noise: VERY noisy. You can hear ever word from your neighbors and if someone sits in the courtyard you will hear everything. You can even hear people using their bathroom. Bathroom: If someone next door uses their restroom your toilet bubbles. The shower is either very hot or very cold you can't get a temperature in between. Access: DiDi was very confused for pick up and drop off. 20-35 minutes away from all the sights in downtown Beijing. The entrance is next to a public toilet and sewer so you must smell it every time you walk in or out. Staff: Friendly at the front desk but found staff peering into my room while I was in it with a do not disturb sign. Bed: Comfortable. Only thing cleaned during my stay. Amenities: WIFI worked for some things and not others. I had to switch back and forth between WiFi and data. You are given 2 free water bottles per day. Overall will not be staying again and cannot recommend this hotel.

A lovely place! Our room was nice and clean, air conditioner worked well, staff supplied us with water and helped with all our requests nicely. The territory is a pure dream! Beautiful traditional style, lanterns shine at night, the atmosphere is above all expectations! ✨ There's a cute white cat and a pond with carps and a tortoise. We enjoyed our stay greatly! The location is very convenient too, within a walking distance to the Drum Tower, there's a street with lots of shops and restaurants and a convenience store nearby. 鼓楼大街 subway station is literally 3 minutes from the hotel! The only downside is that the room walls are very thin indeed, prepare to be hearing every conversation outside and in the next room. We were lucky, so we only had noisy neighbours for one night.

Great experience , lovely and clean room, with soft nice bed, shower is good and I slept well here but with some noice from the school next door but not troublesome to me at all.

Very good location near Gulou Dajie subway station. Nice courtyard that made me feel like going back to the Ming dynasty era. The best part is the staff. All staffs are very friendly and helpful. They helped me in transportation, ordering food delivery, recommending many interesting places and Hutong. Their recommendations are very helpful to save my time and effort in the heat in Beijing summer. The service is world class. Highly recommended!

I love the ambience of the hotel as it gives the Old Beijing essence as if travelling back in time. The room I had was small with little space to move with luggage but it was cosy, clean and had a very comfortable bed. Walking distance to the lakes, so it was a plus point.
