The St. Regis Shenzhen

The most striking thing about this stay is how comforting it is when a hotel truly nails the fundamentals. Upon opening the door, there was zero weird smell; the bedding was crisp and clean, and even the corners were spotless. It was obvious that the cleaning was done with genuine care, not just as a formality. Tricky areas like water stains in the bathroom, the mirror, and the floor drain were all impeccably clean, making it a very reassuring place to stay. The location is a major plus too. You can grab food right outside, transportation is convenient, and getting to the places you want to visit is hassle-free. Returning to the room quickly after a tiring day out—that kind of effortless convenience is so important for a trip. The service hits just the right note: there's someone there when you need them, without being overly enthusiastic to the point of awkwardness. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, all questions were answered promptly, and you could feel well-cared-for in all the little details.

For the price, the room facilities are quite average, but staying in one of Shenzhen's best hotels to watch the sunrise and sunset is simply fantastic. That was the main reason I booked, and overall, it offers great value for money.

Choosing the St. Regis was mainly for its stunning high-floor views and central location, making both transport and shopping very convenient. The receptionist processed our check-in quickly and thoughtfully arranged a corner room for us, offering views of both Shenzhen and Hong Kong. We grabbed lunch and the room was ready by the time we returned. I had read reviews mentioning that the facilities were a bit dated, and while it does show some age, I was overall very satisfied. The room was spacious, bright, and clean, and all amenities felt high-end and worked perfectly. At night, we enjoyed a panoramic view of the dazzling city lights right from the room, giving us that wonderful 'on top of the world' feeling—simply very nice. A special mention goes to the 1500 RMB deposit; although it's a bit steep, it was refunded to my account less than 2 hours after check-out. Thumbs up and highly recommended!

This is Shenzhen, where you can stay at the St. Regis at the ultimate value for money(?). Putting everything else aside, just being in the 92nd-floor lobby is healing. Make sure to visit the bar at night. I definitely want to visit Shenzhen again at least once—just because of the hotel. However, they always insist on speaking Chinese to you first—maybe I look too much like a local haha. Even when they can clearly tell from the context that I'm not, unless you act completely clueless, they keep speaking Chinese to you until the end. Kind of like how the French won't speak English first even if they know it... It's a bit awkward to complain about, but it doesn't leave the best feeling. That kind of vibe.
