Angsana Tengchong

I booked the Angsana Tengchong randomly, and it gave me a huge surprise! **Accommodation**: I stayed in a basic room type, which included a private hot spring and a balcony with a great view. (See pictures 1-4) **Food**: For dinner, I went to the hotel's Rice Restaurant, which claimed to be high-end. I thought, 'how high-end can it really be?' But dish after dish came out – shrimp, crab, beef short ribs, venison, mushrooms, and even insects! Even the dessert was ice cream with chopped Yunnan fruits. It was so rich and abundant, even a big Northern man like me was stuffed. The restaurant ambiance was also excellent, as I dined outdoors. (See picture 5) **Activities**: You absolutely must join the hotel's 10 AM hiking tour. There's a small stream nearby called Longxia Stream, and a teahouse called 'Bù Dù' (No Crossing). You'll wander through the woods, along the stream, and on the ridges. There are also activities like threshing grain, winnowing, and fishing. It's truly a refreshing experience. (See pictures 6-8) Later at night, when the lights dimmed, I managed to capture a starry sky from the hotel's stargazing platform. (See picture 9) **Hot Springs**: You absolutely, absolutely must visit the Angsana Hot Spring Village for a soak! They've built such a high-quality outdoor hot spring amidst the rainforest and by a stream – how can you resist that? Even though I've bathed in many hot springs like Lake Toya and Karuizawa, none of them felt as good as this Angsana hot spring. (See pictures 10-12)

Overall, a fantastic experience! The surroundings are beautiful, the room was very quiet, and the private hot spring was amazing—I heard it's a beauty-enhancing spring. The staff in particular were all wonderful and extremely welcoming. I even made sure to take a picture of two of them to give them a special shoutout!

Special commendation to Ms. Yang Tianyu, who is beautiful and kind-hearted. I had a 10 AM hiking appointment with my child. When we arrived, the first shuttle had already departed, and there were no more seats. My family and two other families waited for the next shuttle for twenty minutes. We even reported the situation to the front desk during this time, but still, no second shuttle was dispatched. At this point, Yang Tianyu dropped off some guests at the drop-off area and learned that we were going hiking. She proactively contacted the hiking staff, informed the hotel management, and drove us to the hiking location herself. Thank you for her warm and enthusiastic help!

This was a ground-floor room with a private hot spring pool. The facilities were excellent, and the room was very well-maintained. The hot spring water was clearly silicic acid spring water, with a noticeably soft texture when stirred, which is quite rare. What's even more surprising is that there were almost no insects in a ground-floor room, just a few large crane flies. Also, Lily Luo at the front desk was fantastic! She even proactively gave us some fridge magnets as a souvenir. The shuttle bus attendant was also very proactive; she pointed out a rainbow to us and offered us a ride when she saw us walking. Even though the front desk staff was busy with shift changes, the lady who checked us in still helped us with our luggage. Compared to the Wyndham Grand we stayed at afterward, the overall service quality at Banyan Tree was infinitely better!

The hotel was clean and the environment was beautiful. There was a slight unpleasantness during check-in, but it was quickly resolved. The service afterward was excellent. I would consider staying here again if I visit Tengchong in the future. Oh, and the breakfast was rich and of good quality.

We came to Tengchong for a hot spring trip to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely, incredibly perfect! We specifically took time off before the Mid-Autumn Festival to arrive. It's a quiet and beautiful resort with fresh air. The private hot spring was very secluded, and the hot springs in the town were not crowded and very comfortable. During the day, we leisurely explored the ancient town, had coffee, took a boat ride, and enjoyed a beef hot pot. In the evening, we returned to the hotel for some sugar-free soda, a private hot spring soak, and a stroll – so relaxed and comfortable! We'll definitely choose this place again on our next visit to Yunnan!

My stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and serviced twice a day. The environment was quiet and beautiful, and both the room and the hot spring bath offered good privacy. Especially noteworthy was the staff; they were professional and friendly, providing excellent service without being overbearing. I also recommend trying some of the free activities offered at the hotel's 101 event. It would be even better if the bathtub in the room were deeper.

This Angsana is nowhere near the same standard and vibe as other Angsana properties. The rooms are cramped; I'd describe it as a hot spring budget hotel. If you're going on vacation, I'd suggest booking the Banyan Tree next door directly. I chose this one based on the quality of other Angsana hotels and for its supposed value for money, but it completely ruined my holiday. The front desk staff were unfamiliar with their duties, the restaurant employees lacked service awareness, and the hotel activities were practically non-existent. Avoid this place at all costs.
