Service: Five-star excellent review! Our butler, Angel, proactively called us in advance and added us on WeChat. She promptly adjusted our room type according to our needs, arranged for the sofa bed to be made, provided daily activity recommendations, and responded quickly to all our inquiries. Absolutely wonderful!
Skiing: Equipment rental is not included in the hotel fee. They have everything you need: clothes, pants, hats, ski goggles, gloves, skis… a full set costs around 680 yuan. The hotel package includes group lessons (up to 12 people), and the coach was very dedicated and thorough. Beginners are also grouped by level; 'beginner' is for those who have never skied before, starting with the basics of ski construction and then teaching on flat ground. For private lessons, one coach for three people felt a bit stretched; they'd typically give one or two hands-on instructions per person, then focus more on the weakest student.
Equipment Usage Experience: As many reviews mention, some of it is a bit dated. The KTV equipment includes a 90s-era TV, microphones without reverb, and outdated song lists. The pool tables all have divots, and the cues are missing tips.
Dining: Besides the three daily buffets, there’s also afternoon tea and a noodle bar. The noodle bar offers dishes like braised beef noodles, Beijing zhajiangmian, and dumplings. Just be mindful of the times and check the mini-program frequently; on our day, afternoon tea closed at 5:30 PM and the noodle bar at 5 PM. Also, it felt like the two bartenders were more enthusiastic towards guests speaking English.
Entertainment: We checked in around 3 PM and only stayed for one night, which felt a bit rushed. There wasn't enough time to participate in many of Club Med's activities. We could only ski on the second day, but skiing stopped at 4 PM on the arrival day, rock climbing at 5 PM, and the heated pool closed at 7 PM. There were no yoga classes on Friday. It's better to arrive early, even if your room isn't ready, you can coordinate with your butler to start skiing earlier. Checking in late means that while there seem to be many activities, there isn't much to do from check-in until bedtime on that half-day. For the swimming pool and heated pool, you need to bring your own slippers; towels and toiletries are provided.
Hygene: The hygiene was acceptable. We did spot many ladybugs 🐞 on the windowsill by the mini-theater.
