Travelodge Kuala Lumpur City Centre

The hotel's location is excellent, just a stone's throw from a major transportation hub, Pasar Seni station, which is a big metro interchange. Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and Pasar Seni Bus Hub are also nearby. Everything is connected by pedestrian walkways, which is very convenient. The hotel is located in Chinatown. Two famous Kuala Lumpur markets, Central Market and Petaling Street Market, are right next to it. Check-in was very quick. I liked the lobby with its stained-glass windows. I stayed on the 10th floor in room 1006. The view from my window was amazing, overlooking the Merdeka 118 tower and the famous Sri Mahamariamman Temple (where I unexpectedly stumbled upon an Indian wedding!). The room looked smaller than on the website, but it was cozy enough. It had everything necessary, including complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee, creamer, and sugar. The towels could do with being replaced. Hot water was always available, and there was shower gel and shampoo. Housekeeping was by request; you just needed to inform the reception. Since breakfast wasn't included in my rate, I had breakfast at the Mango Cafe in the hotel on the ground floor. The menu was limited, buffet-style, but I always found something to eat, and the coffee was good. Breakfast cost 22 ringgit and was served until 10:30 AM. The hotel's laundry service wasn't working as the machines were broken, but there's a paid 24/7 laundry service right across the street where you can wash and dry clothes, which is what everyone did. There are plenty of cafes and grocery stores (7-11, KK) nearby. Attractions are within walking distance, so you can take an evening stroll. The area feels safe, although there are harmless homeless people on the streets. Directly behind the hotel is a bus stop, which is stop number 17 Central Market on the Garden Route (Blue Line) of the KL Hop-on Hop-off tour bus. So if you decide to take this tour, you can catch the bus right outside the hotel. As I said, the hotel's location is simply ideal. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

As this was my first time in Kuala Lumpur, I chose to stay at this hotel for its great location. Right across the street is the Central Market, so finding souvenirs and food at the 2nd-floor food court was a breeze. The train station is just a short walk away, making it easy to get anywhere. Walking a bit further brings you to the Kuala Lumpur Station, from which you can also visit Batu Caves. The location of this hotel is simply unbeatable. Plus, there is a laundromat right in front where you can wash and dry your clothes for around 20 RM. The breakfast, though simple, offered a variety of local flavors, and I was glad I chose the breakfast-inclusive plan. There were a few ants, but it didn't bother me much. The only disappointing thing was the lack of soap, so I had to use body wash to wash my hands. Overall, it's a very nice hotel.

The location is extremely convenient, with both Pasar Seni Station and Central Market just a short walk away. The building is a bit dated and the shower room wasn't very clean, but the room was spacious and functional. Plus, the night view from the window was gorgeous.

Overall, we liked the hotel—it was our first time in Malaysia. Some things are a bit dated and certain interior elements look tired, but overall this doesn't affect comfort or the stay. Cons: extremely uncomfortable pillows and no swimming pool. Good service, and the staff were very friendly. Check-in was quick. Breakfasts were not great. There is hardly any choice, and it's mostly local cuisine. Now, we love local food and eat it all the time, but we've had much tastier meals outside the hotel, so we have something to compare it to. Good soundproofing; you couldn't hear any outside noises from neighboring rooms or the hallway. We booked a twin room, and that is exactly what we got. There is a cold water dispenser in the lobby on the ground floor, available 24/7. Great location. It's right in the city center, close to the metro—about a 3-minute walk. There's also a coffee shop nearby and various grocery stores where you can grab a bite for the room. Banks are relatively close by too, as is a very beautiful temple. Excellent transport links.

Stayed for just one night. No disposable slippers provided, but bottled water was available. Convenient location, easy to find, and within walking distance to Petaling Street. Also very close to the MRT station, making transportation quite convenient.
