Nayoro Onsen Sunpillar

The internet was hard to connect to and slow. I spoke to the front desk and they said it was hard to connect when there were a lot of guests. They played music in the hallways at night and early in the morning, which was very annoying.

As it's a hot spring resort, the onsen was really clean and nice. The ramen was a bit salty, but the tempura rice bowl was really delicious. The staff was very friendly, which was nice. The laundry facilities were well-equipped, which was really convenient. There's a small convenience store on the first floor, but I didn't think there were any nearby, so I wish they had a wider selection.

The hotel is located right in front of the slopes and next to the large parking lot is a ski jump. It feels like it's deep in the mountains. I went in September, so it was empty. I imagine it gets a lot of skiers in the winter. Although it's a hotel, there are no baths in the rooms because there is a hot spring. The hot spring itself isn't very big, but it has been renovated and is very clean. The price was reasonable, including two meals per night, and the food was delicious.

This hot spring is adjacent to Piyashiri Ski Resort. It's relatively close to the campsite, so we went there for a day trip. Tickets are purchased from a vending machine, but you can only buy one at a time, so it gets crowded with large groups. The inside of the hot spring seems to have been renovated, and it is comfortable with a clean waiting room and changing room. There is no open-air bath, but there is a sauna. The hot spring is originally a cold mineral spring, and you can drink the water. The ingredients are rich and it warmed me up nicely. It was the perfect hot spring to take a dip in after camping.
