Traveling all the way from Changzhou, Jiangsu, it was my first time in Hong Kong, and I decided to give Nina Hotel Island South a try. To my surprise, I received a warmth that far exceeded my expectations.
For the first two nights, I stayed in a Superior City Room. Although it didn't have an external window due to Hong Kong's urban planning, the room was spacious and bright. The ventilation system and air conditioning worked wonderfully, so there was no stuffiness at all. The king-size bed was large and soft; once I lay down, I didn't want to get up. I had a great night's sleep and a particularly comfortable stay.
On the third night, due to my booking, I was moved to a newly renovated Superior Room. Upon entering, I noticed a rather strong renovation smell, and later, there was a minor issue with no hot water in the shower. I contacted the front desk just to see what they could do, and they immediately arranged a room change, which already made me very satisfied. What was even more heartwarming was that after we moved rooms, the Guest Services Manager proactively approached us and offered to upgrade us to a room with a balcony for ventilation – throughout the entire process, we hadn't asked for any compensation. This proactive consideration was truly unexpected and touching.
We politely declined the upgrade and casually asked if they could offer us breakfast for four. The manager agreed without hesitation, saying, "Absolutely no problem." This unexpected thoughtfulness felt like a spring breeze, dispelling any initial apprehension. The hotel's service goes beyond just solving problems; it's about proactive empathy, and it made my first impression of Hong Kong exceptionally wonderful because of this warmth. Next time I visit, this will still be my first choice.
