The museum complex consists of a three-story comprehensive exhibition hall to the east and a two-story main exhibition hall to the north, all interconnected by encircling corridors. With 10 exhibition halls in total, the museum features permanent displays including cultural relics and porcelain pillow exhibitions, along with rotating temporary exhibitions.
The cultural relics exhibition serves as the museum's centerpiece, primarily showcasing artifacts unearthed from the tomb of Nanyue King Zhao Mo, which yielded over 10,000 burial objects. The exhibition is divided into five thematic sections: the Emperor's Golden Seal, Treasures from the Main Chamber, Human Sacrifices, Imperial Treasury, and Musical Instruments with Ritual Vessels.
The collection features a significant number of jade artifacts, including a celadon jade horn-shaped cup, eleven sets of jade ornaments, and fifty-eight jade sword fittings—all representing major discoveries in Han Dynasty jade craftsmanship. Among the most prized pieces are the "thread-woven jade burial suit," the "stem cup with high foot," and the "double-ring jade pendant with dragon-phoenix design." The latter, unearthed near the tomb owner's right eye, is a decorative jade piece carved from pale greenish-white jade. It consists of two concentric rings: the inner ring features an openwork dragon in motion, while the outer ring showcases an openwork phoenix. This iconic design was adopted as the emblem of the Nanyue King Museum-The Site of King's Tomb.
