The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES!!! I was charged over $200 in hidden fees apart from the original cost. There are so many other resorts on the island that would be more cost effective than this one. Avoid booking here!!

Clean and comfortable. Stopped for one night on travels home from Florida. Disappointed in room service menu and lack of options for GF as we arrived later and were too tired to go out. Also, coffee in room needs more than 2 pods. A LONG walk to the elevator as that’s not convenient in morning coffee shop open and was able to get coffee before heading home. Beds comfy as per usual. We didn’t get to see the beach or tour the hotel this visit.

My wife and I were excited to stay on the beach at Hilton Head and planned our vacation around this hotel. For the money spent, they did not read my notes requesting certain information. We found mold in the ice cubes from the machine on the floor. Rooms had a combo smell of bleach and mold as well. Shower was extra slippery with not mat to alleviate that. Room a/c was loud and did not hold the temperature set! In other words, an ice box. Morning breakfast buffet was sub par. Food was bland or cold. The Westin is one of Marriott’s high end properties. Not so on Hilton Head Island. Extremely disappointed with my choice to stay there. Choose another hotel and avoid these pitfalls.

We’ve stayed here many times in the past, but this was the first time since Covid. It’s still a beautiful hotel and they said by next summer, they will have even more amenities. The staff is always wonderful. This year, I noticed paint peeling, faded furniture, stains on carpet, etc. Seems like they’re overdue for some touchups, but hopefully that’s all included with their updates they’re expecting by next summer. The only dissatisfaction I had was the loud DJ during the day. It was impossible to sit on the balcony and relax. Even with the door balcony door closed, it was too loud to relax or watch tv without being able to hear it. We were on 3rd floor on the far opposite side of where the DJ was. Can’t imagine how challenging it was for guests that were even closer. They did turn it down a bit when asked, but it was blaring from I think 10am-4pm, which is a long time to not be able to enjoy the room. The first day we went to the beach to get away from it. The background music is nice by the pool, just way too loud. The live music in the evening was at a much better volume and more calm, so we could barely hear on balcony and couldn’t hear it with glass door closed. Otherwise, as always, we loved our stay. I’m sure we’ll be back again. It’s still one of our favorite hotels.

Great proximity to the beach. Several eating options without having to leave the resort, but if you do close to many options. Would stay again.

Wonderful experience. Room was clean & comfortable. Pool area is fantastic! Favorite part is the access to the beach - steps out the door!

We had a great ocean view room. The room was clean and modern with a great balcony. The property had plenty of pools and dining options. We also had great massages at the spa. Highly recommend.
