Ruen Ariya Resort Chiangmai

Everything was terrible. Room smelled very bad. Door to bathroom was broken. Standing water outside of room. There were many mosquitoes. There was a cage next to front office where rabbits were caged. There were shopping carts on the property next to front office, one was filled with straw. There were bicycles and baby car seats next to front office. Internet had weak connection and could not use it. Front gate was closed on first night at 8:30 PM. Office staff inspected room before refunding my 500 bhat deposit, seeming not very trustful. The place was remote and hard to find. It is overpriced compared to other better nearby hotels. Its photos on the travel website look better than the actual place and room. The water pressure in the shower was irregular and the temperature fluctuated from hot to cold without turning the water faucet. It is rated 3 stars. In my opinion, it does not deserve any stars and should get a two-thumbs down rating instead of the 3 star rating listed on the travel website. In sum, I would not recommend it. Stated differently, do not go!

The property did not look like the pictures on ******* website which seem photoshopped, the sign has fell of the front of the hotel and the hotel room had stains on the walls and roof. The hotel is also part farm and the animals look sick. Maybe this was a nice hotel in the past but now it’s just not fit for purpose.
