Aquila Private Game Reserve & Spa

We've been to Inverdorn several times, and this time decided to try Aquila. Honestly, Inverdorn definitely wins when it comes to atmosphere. Everything there feels more intimate, even the safaris. Aquila feels like it's designed for mass tourism; even the safari vehicles are trucks, and it's particularly overwhelming to see so many people when everyone gathers for coffee after the safari. We enjoyed seeing the animals, but it felt like they were all just in one area together. At Inverdorn, you drive around, search, and find them, which adds to the thrill. Here, you see everyone at once, and that's it. The two-story bungalows are too dark. The food was okay, I especially liked the ostrich! We won't be going back to Aquila; Inverdorn is much better. Oh, and it was our first time experiencing a safari in heavy rain!

The value for money is extremely poor. If you're looking for mass tourism, staged safaris, and little privacy, this is the place for you. The food is absolutely mass-produced. Just looking at it is enough to put you off eating. Everything costs extra. We didn't have any water in our room and when we asked for some, we were immediately asked to pay. The safaris are packed with large buses (not small jeeps like you'd expect on a stylish game drive), and the animals are deliberately fed so they're in the right place at the right time for the many buses. And all this for the price! Very disappointing.
