My wife and I spent five nights at Tsala Treetop Lodge to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be a truly special experience. The lodge is located in the middle of a beautiful indigenous forest along the Garden Route, and from the moment we arrived it felt peaceful and private. We stayed in Tree Top Suite #7, which was absolutely stunning. The suite is incredibly spacious and feels like a luxurious treehouse high above the forest. It has a large living area with a fireplace, a beautiful bathroom, and a private deck with a plunge pool overlooking the trees. Sitting on the terrace in the morning with coffee and listening to the birds was one of our favorite moments during the trip. What really impressed us was the level of detail throughout the property. The architecture, the wood and stone elements, and the interior design make the lodge feel very unique and atmospheric. It’s one of those rare places where the reality is even more beautiful than the pictures online. Another highlight was the food. We had dinner at the lodge several evenings and every meal was excellent. The cuisine is refined but relaxed, and the setting in the restaurant in the evening is fantastic. The wine list is also very good. The staff were wonderful during our entire stay — friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. For us it was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary: quiet, romantic and surrounded by nature, yet with a very high level of comfort and luxury. If you are travelling along the Garden Route and want to treat yourself to something special, Tsala Treetop Lodge is definitely worth it.
