Mandarin Oriental never disappoints; it's consistently excellent. The Bangkok Mandarin Oriental, with its 150-year history, exudes an understated luxury and old-money charm. From the moment I checked in, I felt incredibly well-cared for. As our room wasn't ready, we went for a SPA session and visited the ICONSIAM mall across the river. I hadn't received the check-in email that was promised, and I even mentioned it to the front desk when we returned in the evening. However, the gentleman at the front desk was incredibly patient and enthusiastic. This trip, we mostly stayed at the Four Seasons because we were traveling with our child. We booked the Mandarin Oriental for our last day specifically to experience their globally renowned SPA. To my surprise, as soon as we arrived, they gave my child crayons, a drawing book, and a stamp collection booklet. It was incredibly thoughtful! I felt like we could have easily stayed here longer with the kids to enjoy their children's activities. Upon entering our room, we also received welcome fruits and drinks, which was a lovely touch and made for a very comfortable experience. Also, the slippers at the Mandarin Oriental are, in my opinion, the most comfortable I've ever worn. I absolutely love it here.

I've always been a fan of Mandarin Oriental, but this was my first stay at their Bangkok property. I must say, this 150-year-old hotel still maintains an incredibly high standard of service. Time only adds to its charm, never becoming a burden. The moment you step into the hotel lobby, you're greeted by a lavish and captivating Southeast Asian decor. Tropical greenery 🪴, vintage red and green sofas, and extravagant chandeliers create a distinct personality! It's undeniably luxurious, opulent, and flamboyant. Upon entering the room, the colors become much more subdued, leaning towards a minimalist European style. My favorite parts were the bathroom and the floor-to-ceiling balcony windows! The gray, white, and deep blue tiles on the balcony are retro and sophisticated, setting the base tone. Silver vintage faucets add a touch of grandeur to the design, making the bathroom itself incredibly photogenic. The floor-to-ceiling windows allow sunlight to embrace every guest, offering panoramic views of the Chao Phraya River's every change. From the moment you step out of your car at the lobby entrance, you're consistently attended to by the staff. The doorman immediately presents a Jasmin garland as a welcome and escorts you to the front desk before leaving. There's no unnecessary waiting; check-in begins promptly, and your requests are met one by one. When I mentioned it was for a birthday celebration, a cake 🍰 was arranged in the room immediately. Upon entering the room, the floor manager thoughtfully brings a welcome drink and explains all the room amenities, providing 24-hour service on the floor. This level of attentiveness makes guests feel secure and at ease. Taking the shuttle boat daily to and from the Spa, Gym, and shopping center is also a unique experience. I have to say, the gym facilities are top-notch, and the flow design is excellent. From the moment you enter until you leave, the staff greets you with a smile. Although there was a minor issue with the lights in the room, slightly affecting the experience, the front desk manager immediately provided a solution and offered a gift. Their response time was within three minutes. Who wouldn't love a hotel like this, with such service and such an experience? I will definitely be staying again!

Even an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari. This place is perfect for a staycation, and I'll definitely be back!

This hotel is worth staying at. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to get to ICONSIAM. The pool is great and the kids loved it, and the gym is absolutely top-notch. The overall service was also excellent. I highly recommend it and will definitely come back again.

This century-old hotel is really impressive, and definitely has that old-money charm. The quality is consistently high across the board. My only minor gripe is that almost all the drinks in the minibar aren't complimentary, which feels a little stingy considering the premium price point. You'd expect at least some free beverages at this level.

To be honest, our trip to Bangkok wasn't as smooth as I'd imagined, but thankfully, everything worked out in the end. I'm also grateful to my fitness coach for accompanying me throughout the trip to Thailand, helping alleviate travel fatigue and ensuring my safety. Every morning, we'd wake up slowly amidst love and positive energy, exchanging good mornings. But for some reason, the moment the sun set, a profound weariness would suddenly wash over us. We'd then go to sleep filled with resentment, after arguments and quarrels. The next morning, as the sun shone by the Chao Phraya River, I'd regret my actions from the night before, wishing I hadn't been so short-tempered or said things that hurt his pride. And in that very moment, oh God! I realized this is karma, this is fate. Repeating the past day after day, waking up with an optimistic mindset, only to go to sleep complaining and angry. The second and third days were much the same, a cycle I couldn't break free from. Luckily, Chan-chan was always there to encourage me to overcome my inner demons. I also prayed for divine help, but the gloom was like a persistent shadow, hard to shake off completely. Finally, thanks again to Trip.com for the recommendation. And a special thanks to my precious son for his help. He's lived in Southeast Asia for years and took care of everything for me. We arrived in Bangkok via Thai Airways, and as soon as we disembarked, we saw lovely staff members whisking us to the immigration hall in a golf cart. The immigration officers processed all our documents in mere seconds.

The night view was even more stunning! 💓 Although we didn't have a reservation, we were still able to enjoy afternoon tea. We definitely want to visit again. The original flagship hotel of Mandarin Oriental, the 'One River, Two Systems' Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, is a must-visit luxury hotel for enthusiasts. On this trip, I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok, and the Bangkok MO was undoubtedly the most surprising. The hotel's welcome amenities were very thoughtful, and any issues during my stay were resolved efficiently and professionally. The 24-hour butler service on every floor was impressive. The three buildings each have their own distinct style, and I highly recommend the State Room I stayed in! The private terrace with views of the Chao Phraya River was incredibly relaxing, and the room's design, rich in local cultural elements, left a lasting impression. The outdoor-only breakfast restaurant was a minor drawback, given Bangkok's really hot and humid weather, but being right by the river with even birds interacting with guests was quite interesting. The convenient shuttle boat service to ICONSIAM right across the river was a plus, and the hotel's wellness facilities being located on the opposite bank truly offered a unique experience. In summary, the Mandarin Oriental, celebrating its 150th anniversary, is definitely worth adding to your must-stay list.
