Rusutsu was amazing for our ski trip.  There was a good variety of ski trails in 3 different mountains.  Ski rentals was next to the ski lockers and we could start skiing directly in front of the hotel.  No need to carry equipment a long way.   Dining was fabulous too.   For a fraction of the price in my home country, we enjoyed buffet breakfasts and dinners and Japanese hot pots.

The pros: the locker rooms are very spacious, with dry changing areas, which is great. The hot spring public bath is also excellent, especially the outdoor pool. The cons: it's a family-friendly hotel, so it's crowded and noisy. There are long queues for meals, and the front desk service is poor; they generally seem to be dismissive and disrespectful towards guests with mainland Chinese passports. If I come back to Rusutsu for skiing, I'll only stay at The Westin next door. It has better facilities, loft-style rooms, and significantly better value for money.

We stayed at Rusutsu Resort Hotel & Convention and we were truly impressed. We came for skiing, and the location is perfect — just step out of the hotel and you’re right at the ski slopes. So convenient .⛷️❄️ The room was spacious, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The snowy view from the window made the whole experience even more special. After a full day of skiing, relaxing in the onsen was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect way to unwind and recharge. ♨️✨ The staff were friendly, polite, and very helpful. Location: Ski in Ski out Beautiful Red Runs, trees areas Nice and wide slopes Rooms: Clean but old Desperate for renovation Onsen: There are 3 choices The best renovated looking one is the North Wing 6/F Vale also uses the same onsen Breakfast: Octoberfest Crazy amount of people Need to go super early Food Ok Ambience old like a canteen Lunch/Dinner: The mall looks like it used to stuck in the 80s with not many restaurant choices Better off go to the restaurants just outside of hotel Ski Lockers: Handy but very run down looking Overall: We paid USD390/night but didn't enjoy the overall experience and the tour group like canteen feel at breakfast. It gives a very 80s vibe that wasn't very appealing. Will definitely not come back.

The entire hotel was spacious, clean, and very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing, with an impressive variety of delicious food. Everything was beautifully prepared, and we enjoyed the breakfast tremendously. It was such a wonderful experience that I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends!

The pillows weren't very comfortable and the hotel felt a bit old, but everything else was pretty good. It's actually quite a distance from Gondola, and not very convenient if you're skiing at Higashiyama or Isola. Overall, it was okay.
