The hotel was nice, but it was just too crowded! We had our two-and-a-half-year-old with us, and since she couldn't ski, there wasn't much for us to do. Overall, the resort is pretty good though. The snow in Hokkaido is absolutely beautiful!

We were given a six-person room with four floor beds and a bunk bed, so my child and I had plenty of space to roll around. It had been snowing for two days straight, and the powder snow made for a very comfortable skiing experience, perfect for beginners. This is my fourth visit for a summer getaway. I must say, it's definitely a top choice for accommodation in Hokkaido. Three nights here feels just right; two nights would be too short. I've tried all the restaurants on site, and while they're okay, waiting in line for them isn't really worth the time. It would be nice if they offered a wider variety of sports activities.

Tomamu Hoshino Resort – I have to say, it's pretty impressive all around! 🌟
Before it got dark, we explored the farm, petted cows 🐄 and sheep 🐑, climbed hay bales, and relaxed on hay sofas 🌾.
In the evening, we went to Minamina Beach 🏖️ and then to the open-air forest hot spring ♨️, which genuinely smelled of rich wood.
After that, we timed our visit to Tadao Ando's Church on the Water ✝️, listening to the chorus of frogs 🐸.
First thing the next morning, we took the cable car up the mountain to see the sea of clouds (or rather, mist) ☁️.
The beds made of hay were so warm and comfortable! 🐄
The French toast with Hokkaido cream at the Forest Restaurant Nininupuri was absolutely delicious 😋 – the best French toast ever!
Transportation is a bit inconvenient; you transfer once from the airport to Tomamu Station via JR, and then there's a shuttle bus to the hotel. But remember, to get from the hotel to the JR station, you MUST book in advance. It's not on the regular timetable, and it doesn't stop at every station!

Excellent value for money during the off-season! The surroundings are beautiful, breakfast is fantastic, and the shuttle bus makes it incredibly convenient to get around the resort. The airport pick-up service from New Chitose and the bus to Asahikawa were also a huge help with our transport needs.
The only slight downside was that when we inquired about a bus stop via email, the staff seemed unfamiliar with the details and provided incorrect information, which slightly affected our itinerary.
Otherwise, everything was great, and we'd definitely come back!

This hotel meets all my expectations! Besides the surf pool, which both adults and kids loved, there's a hot spring where you can spot deer, a cable car to see the sea of clouds, and the Water Chapel that I've always wanted to see!

Very poor value for money. It's not worth the price, and it doesn't even include meals. The hot springs aren't real温泉水 (onsen water), and you have to go a long way to reach them. If you're going to a ski resort, you'd be better off staying at a Prince Hotel property. The decor and facilities are also quite old. There's no phone in the room, and the staff didn't make any arrangements during the earthquake.
